Music moves me. I've never been to a Broadway show where I haven't absolutely SOBBED, and I can't control it. I love "Imagine", love John Lennon (I was suspended in High school for putting the flag at half staff when he was killed), I didn't want to hear David A. sing it (and potentially ruin it). So I sat there, expecting not to like it, and the tears started.

It was a powerful performance by a brilliantly gifted young man.

I agree and I also expected to not like it. I got a chill and tears started to come to my eyes.

...well, one can only hope that the ladies will perform better tomorrow....

Music has the same effect on me at times. I cried when Fantasia sang "Summertime" Paula can't get away with crying though, considering her reputation for being a space cadet. .

Wow, I thought little David was great! I love the tone of his voice, I even downloaded his song on Itunes! Not a fan, though, sorry, he's too character like for me.

i can't get thru at all for David Cook.

Week Two – The Guys – Wrap-Up

The 70s theme has the potential for being awful…

Michael Johns – Go Your Own Way – Ouch…I’m a big Fleetwood Mac fan, but there were many, many wrong notes there. I thought that was pretty awful.

Jason Castro -- I Just Want to Be Your Everything – Not familiar with this BeeGees song, but I’m now officially a fan of Jason Castro. I enjoyed that one.

Luke Menard – Killer Queen – Much better than last week, but he lacks a presence onstage. It was a tough song, but Simon nailed it – he lacks charisma and shows big time when he “performs.”

Robbie Carrico – Hot-Blooded – I despise this song, but I’m surprised that two weeks in a row, I’ve kinda like Robbie. I tend to agree with the judges that he’s not really a rocker. Like Luke, he was boring to watch, but his voice was pretty good.

Danny Noriega -- Superstar – I mean, I guess he wasn’t awful…yeah…that’s all I’m saying about him…

David Hernandez – Papa Was a Rolling Stone – Hate this song…didn’t really like the performance either. He was probably okay, but once I heard the song, I kinda zoned out. (After watching the replay, he wasn’t that bad…)

Jason Yeager – Without You – Vocal-wise, he was decent, but he is one of the worst performers on Idol. That being said, he makes me laugh when I watch him…Vote for the Worst should’ve chosen him ‘cause I think he’s a hoot. Cheese-fest!

Chikezie – I Believe – Better than last week, that’s for sure. I don’t really care for him, though, for some reason. He showed some promise in the initial audition that they showed, but he hasn’t made good on what he first showed.

David Cook – All Right Now – I didn’t think David was great last week, but I enjoyed his performance a lot this week. His vocals sounded much stronger than last time. Plus, I like crossword puzzles, too! Word Nerds Unite (for this week, anyway)!

David Archuleta -- Imagine – I can do without the screaming legions of pre-pubescent girls, but David A’s really good. That was an Idol performance I’ve been waiting for all season.

My Thoughts

The Best

David Archuleta – Imagine
David Cook – All Right Now
Jason Castro – I Just Want to Be Your Everything

Middle of the Pack
David Hernandez – Papa Was a Rolling Stone
Robbie Carrico – Hot-Blooded
Luke Menard – Killer Queen
Chikezie - I Believe

Bottom of the Barrel
Danny Noriega - Superstar
Jason Yeager – Without You
Michael Johns – Go Your Own Way

Going Home
I’d love to see Michael Johns go, but he’s here for a while…I guess I predict that Jason Yeager and Robbie Carrico get the boot…

...well, I don't wanna see Michael Johns go, but I do agree that he wasn't very good tonight....:guilty:

Michael Johns – Go Your Own Way – This is the second week in a row that I'm really not impressed. I just don't see or hear it with this guy.

Jason Castro - I Just Want to Be Your Everything - the judges didn't like his vocals but I thought he sounded terrific!

Luke Menard – Killer Queen – just ok - I don't like listening to men singing with high pitched voices.

Robbie Carrico – Hot-Blooded – I thought he was OK - I don't get the deal about being a real rocker. Who cares?

Danny Noriega - Superstar – Just OK but his personality makes him stand out from the rest.

David Hernandez – Papa Was a Rolling Stone – I thought this was a bit better than just OK.

Jason Yeager – Without You – With all that smiling and corny performing he should work at Disney! And maybe he will because I doubt he'll be around much longer. I do think Simon is unnecessarily cruel in his comments to him.

Chikezie – I Believe – I LOVED it! Great vocals, great performance, great personality during the comments part.:thumbsup2

David Cook – All Right Now – OK vocally but the hair is really bugging me. It looks like a forward comb-over. It's just icky looking. Be bald and be proud!

David Archuleta -- Imagine – It was good but I didn't think it was that good.

My faves this week: Chickezie and Jason Castro

I voted for David Archuleta. :thumbsup2
DH works with his aunt, so it's sorta like we "know" him, but I still think he did a fantastic job tonight.

I have heard songs too that have brought a tear to my eye. That one just wasn't even remotely close.

Of course I'm not a Beatles fan either! :duck:

Ick, last season was awful!! After that train wreck, I'll watch, but mostly because there's nothing else on.

Chris Daughtry will always be my favorite Idol. :thumbsup2

I so totally agree. I love his CD - wish he would of one a grammy this year. He was the best. Could never understand how he got booted.

Surprised they are using one of his songs this year on idol

Chris Daughtry needs to get his hands on some Nine Inch Nails music or Tool if he wants to call himself "rock".

In my opinion, the best 3 this week were David, David and David. And I'm not referring to one person haha. David A's performance was amazing. He's by far without a doubt the best guy they have this year. I really hope he keeps performing well because I think he should win this year.

I also liked the other two David's, but besides that, the rest of the night was pretty dull like last week. I also didn't think that most of the guys were as bad as the judges made them out to be. I think they seemed a little harsh today.

And I know I won't be liked for this, but I actually like Danny. He's not my favorite, but I like him. I always seem to like the ones that everyone else hates! I particularly remember John Stevens from Season 3. I absolutely loved him and I think I was probably the only one.

As for who should go home, I pick the same two that I picked last week: Luke and Jacuzzi. Unfortunately, I think Jacuzzi probably did well enough to save him another week so it will probably be Luke and Jason Y. Jacuzzi has one more week and then it's a tossup between the other 7 as to who makes the top 6 guys.

Did they add more phone lines? I've been sitting here voting for Brer Rabbit (aka Jason Castro) and I've gotten through every time. I've NEVER had this happen before and I believe that he has a fairly decent following...? :confused3 Even when I was voting for John Stevens I didn't get through every time!

Bits & pieces...

Jason Yaeger looks like the 13th Osmond Brother. And, would someone PLEASE tell some of these singers to PAY ATTENTION to the meaning behind the words?!? I swear, I wanted to slap that damn grin off of Jason Y's face! He is always inappropriately mugging into the camera. "Without Love" is not actually a song that a performer should grin while singing the entire song! CREEPY MUCH.

Luke has a nice voice but the tonal quality is kind of thin. His problem is that he looks like Hugh Jacknam but sounds like Frank Valli. And what's funny is that David A. looks like a kid but has the voice you expect to hear come out of Luke Menard.

I was shocked, SHOCKED I tell you! I actually liked Chikezie's performance.

David Cook was a little bit of alright as well.

I liked David Hernandez' performance too.

Michael Johns'.... The man needs to stop yelling every single time he sings. Maybe relax and just sing a little more naturally and shade things a bit. Not every song needs to be belted at top volume.

agnes!
