Week One – The Guys - Wrap-up

As Usual, I'm quoting RYMickey since I'm too lazy to retype all of this and we generally agree anyway.

I was hoping you'd be back this year and was wondering whether we'd agree again. So far, we're mostly on the same page...

I didn't enjoy this show at all. I have never wanted to hit fast forward so much during an episode of Idol and I had to make myself listen to everyone's entire performance...The judges are getting old and definitely need new material.

I agree completely. In the end, last night was completely unsatisfying...and the judges schtick is definitely getting tiresome.

Chikezie – More Today Than Yesterday – Chickezie is not easy on the ears - in fact I'll just call him Chikcheesy.

David Archuleta – Shop Around – I liked his voice, but I can see his Melinda "Awe Shucks" Doolittle attitude getting old quick.

Aw, now see, we were fine until you start bashing Melinda...

For the "most talented season ever", I was quite disappointed.

I think the guys had plenty of good songs to choose from--their choices were just sucky......

they do for commercials! I hear Beatles songs on so many commercials lately.

I do think the guys just picked so many bad songs. I was around in the 60's and actually remember a lot of the songs from back then. I think the guys thought they were picking 'safe' songs and in the first few weeks that probably isn't a good idea because safe = boring and boring = I can't remember them.

My favorite last night was the first guy to perform last night. His name is David - I forget his last name. I only watched an hour last night because of Big Brother being on at 9...

According to the article in the link her album came out about 5 years ago. I don't think she would still be under contract since it was a huge flop.
