The 1980's.... that fashion is becoming popular again, it seems.

Remember ....;) if a fad goes out and comes back in during your life, you should not try it the second time because chances are that you’re too old for it. ;)

::yes:: It's so pitiful when a woman tries to look young by dressing like the kids.

So Aquanet is back?

When I was in 4th grade, I had a miniature can of Aquanet in my purse at school to fluffify my hair in between lunch and going back to class. A boy teased me and I smacked him over the head with my purse, forgetting I had the can of hairspray in there. He ended up with a good sized goose egg on his head.:lmao:

I wonder if I can still fit into my parachute pants? :confused3

Do they still make Aqua Net? I remember my hair being so stiff that it never moved. No thanks. I think I'll sit this one out.

I have recently bought my daughter some of those lacy leggings.
I can still remember the smell of Aquanet....

I bought a pair of Converse sneakers yesterday. It's one of those with the double tongue. You can flip the outer one down and the inner one (different color) has the All Star logo on it. It came with a second set of laces, too--bright pink. I don't plan on wearing them that way. They're a nice blue color, with the pink on the inside.

I just don't want them to bring back stirrup pants. Not a good look on me. The wider the hem, the better. :thumbsup2

I saw this at Epcot on my Last trip...

She pointing to a Banana and she is wearing a BANANA comb...Let's not forget the "Let's Get Physical" headband.

We used to call them Peter Pan Get Away boots...

It's all coming back to me now...:hippie:

OMG! lol I used to  my banana clip! hehe Let's hope that it stays retired now... lol

Maybe now I'll finally be able to replace my black suede crushed slouchy boots from 1986. I wore them for 2-3 years straight...even on my class trip to Europe...I didn't get rid of them until I wore holes in the soles!

Anyone remember two-tone jeans? I had a pair that was dark in the front, light in back, with a light panel in the front from the waist to mid-hip.

It took me years to grow out my bangs...I don't want big hair to come back in style! :lmao: OTOH, maybe I'll be able to stop straightening my hair if perms come back..... :scratchin

I remember those jeans :rotfl: :rotfl: . Do you remember those brown loafer kinda shoes that used to have the laces twirled. I don't know if I'm explaining just right. Maybe someone can help.

I remember boat shoes that we tied the knots in the ends to be like that. Penny loafers with a penny in them, and Tretorns

I loved my Tretorns

I forget if it was a JCPenney or a Lands End catalog but all I remember seeing was pages of colored denim! Ack! And I saw a pair of jelly shoes in the clearence section of DSW the other weekend.

Does this all mean I'll have to go find my plastic shirt clip?

We bought several minidress/leggings sets for DD for school this fall. They have been popular for a couple of years here. We also are starting to see hip slung belts, ballet flats, and acid washed denim.

Everything comes back in fashion eventually!!

Yes they do! I can't wear heals for too long, so I mostly wear flat shoes (and I do mean flat, not what some of these stores view as "flat"). I have been having the most difficult time finding them for the past few years. Now, I'm seeing them all over the place b/c they are finally "in" again :woohoo: ! Ahhh, my feet :cloud9:

Ok, I LOVE those! Of course, IIRC, they were popular in 1982/1984. I saw them in the JCPenney catalog and couldn't believe that they are back.

I was a teenager in the 80's so I remember a lot of things and have to admit, loved the fashion back then and still do! I still wear high top Reebok sneakers! Wouldn't have it any other way :thumbsup2

I've seen several versions of the "Flock of Seagulls" hair on teens. :scared1: I thought it was for Halloween....

I LOVE THE 80'S!!

I always liked stirup pants and shoulder pads. And big hair! I was wondering if they still sell hot rollers?

Of course, in the 80's I weighed much less, had no kids and plenty of time to do my hair and makeup and all that stuff. Now I'm lucky if my hair gets brushed before I leave the house and makeup is put on at stoplights in the car!

The only thing I have left from the 80s is a big tortoise shell banana clip. Just could never part with it--my hair looked SO cute up in this big clip!!:rotfl:

My favorite 80s top was a fuschia (dare I breathe the words...) "Flash Dance" kind of faux-ripped-neck knit top, kind of like a sweat top but not fleecy...gee, I wish I had more photos of my outfits from those days!!

Every once in a while, DH's sister emails us a photo she comes across from those days (I met DH in 1986) and I am MORTIFIED to see how big my hair was! And my big hair was not even that BIG for the era! I was 29 when I met DH and the teenagers I worked with had much, much bigger hair than me. :lmao:

Oh, one more thing I still have is a Guess denim skirt--I remember paying $60 for it right after I graduated from nursing school and that was a FORTUNE to me in those days. It still hangs in my closet (no, it doesn't fit! ;) ) and I still think it's adorable.:rolleyes1

I had forgotten about my Guess denim mini skirt--I loved it! I had a boyfriend that bought it for me on one of our 1st dates--I was impressed!! I think I finally gave mine away (only b/c it didn't fit anymore.)
