It is between 10-15 minutes. You can get there faster by car but you would be missing out on a really beautiful and relaxing trip. Plus, you get to see the Disney TreeHouses where the International Cast Members stay during their time at WDW.

Just to add to this.
The ride is approx. 15 minutes each way from POFQ and very relaxing. They run frequently every 10 to 20 minutes throughout the day up to around 11:00 to 11:30, depending on the day of the week.

Non-stop service from POFQ. You can also bump a ride up to Riverside from POFQ. If you like relaxing free boat rides, you can take one to DTD and jump on one to OKW or SS. They also run one from the east side of DTD to the west as well. Even if your not a guest at any of the resorts, the ride is free to all. They never ask for any room credentials. Very impressed on how they can steer them in the dark with minimal light.

Interesting note on the treehouses, our captain on our boat mentioned they will be torn down soon and new condos will be built to satisfy the “disabilities act”. They were built back in the 70’s but were discontinued in the late 80’s due to the “disabilities act”, a lot of decks and stairs. Since then they were used to house student employees on a temporary basis. Very interesting architecture to look at.

On the bed comment, it is correct that all moderates have either full/twin or King. If at least they made a queen option out of one of the beds, that would make a huge difference.

I thought the rooms had either 2 doubles or one king...I've never seen one with twin :confused3

As CleveRocks said, there are no twin beds in the moderate resorts. All 4 mods have full-sized beds that are also sometimes referred to as double size. Twin size is not as wide as the full/double beds. The only thing that could be thought of as twin size is the trundle bed that is only found in the AB section at POR, but the actual beds, even those with a trundle underneath, are full/double.

What time do the boats to Downtown Disney start in the morning? Where do they let you off? We are thinking of catching the Lynx bus to Sea World and the bus stop is next to Cirque.

In your case, you would have to go to DTD on one boat then transfer over to the "cross-DTD" boat. I honestly forget which side is considered East and which is West. The walk across in DTD if I had to guess could take about 15 minutes.

If we take the bus to Downtown Disney instead, where does it let us off?

That unfortunately I'm not sure about. Sorry...:sad1:

However, I did a quick research for you and found this on wdwinfo.com.

Downtown Disney Pleasure Island/West Side: DTD buses start running at approximately 8:30am. This is a combined bus stop located at Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island. The bus driver will announce the latest bus return time.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: DTD buses start running at 8:30am. The bus driver will announce the latest bus return time.

DTD Mkt plc is where the ferry will let you off.

Hope this helps..

This is from Allears:

Transportation to Downtown Disney. Boats depart daily from French Quarter every 20 minutes from 11:00am to 4:00pm. and every 10 minutes from 4:00pm to 11:00pm. Due to popularity and limited seating capacity, you may experience an extended wait before boarding. All guests may have to exit boat at the destination and reboard at the queue line for return trip. The boat dock is in the back of the hotel property.

Hi everyone,
We are looking at possibly booking POFQ for our October trip. Can you tell me if they have bike rentals available. I think I remember reading that boat rentals are only at POR. thanks.

When I was there in October, they did have the kids do a parade through the food court. Since we weren't there with children, I'm not aware of any other activities.

They had some sort of kids cooking activity in the food court. Twice while we happened to be in there, they had an area where kids were directed in decorating cookies, or something like that.

There's also an area off to one side of the food court with a TV (showing cartoons) and an unlimited supply of colring pages and crayons.

I have a question about the holiday season at POFQ. We spent a very enjoyable Christmas week at POFQ about 4 years ago. One of my warmest memories was of taking a book and my refillable mug of coffee to the outside area of Scat Cats every morning. There was a Yamaha diskclavier piano there that played holiday music ever so softly every morning. What a relaxing way to begin the day while the rest of my family got to sleep!

Does anyone remember if that piano is still there and if it was playing music, especially at Christmas? Thanks in advance for the replies!

Even though we're not going for a few years, we plan on staying at POFQ so I'm definitely subbing!
