We have been making plans for our summer vacation and finally had decided on a place where to stay. We wanted to rent a two bedroom apartment at an inn for an entire week in July and fortunately it was available. Then I was asked how many guests will be staying, I said 5. Wrong answer!!!!!!

Apparently the owner (privately owned inn) doesn't allow more than 4 persons per room/apartment, etc. Their studios, which are small, allow 4 per room, but their two bedroom apartment doesn't. I realize that it's the owner's prerogative to set the policies, but it doesn't make much sense to me. Then I was offered adjoining studios, which I'm not interested in. Well, that's what I get for being honest.

I have been looking for accomodations for a while and this place looked lovely. I guess it wasn't meant to be. Oh well, the search goes on...

Well, at least you can sleep at night knowing you did the right thing. That does seem odd that the 2 bedroom only sleeps 4. I hope you find something even nicer for your trip. A week in July sounds like heaven!

That stinks :( I just can't believe that they wouldn't be okay with 2 adults and 3 kids there. Good luck finding a new place, Rita.

That seems ridiculous! I hope you find something that you like even more, Rita!

there is also a fire code that limits how many persons can stay in a room. sorry you can't stay where you had hoped. keep pressing, I'm sure you'll find a perfect alternative.

Yes, we did find another place!!!! It's better than the other place we were initially looking at. We made our reservations right away and we can't wait to go!!!!

Intense~ I'm aware of that. We were looking at a two bedroom apartment. In our case, it was the owner's preference, at least that's what we were told. The owner seems to have many rules. For instance, certain rooms at this inn are close to the main road and then you cross the street to get to the beach. Anyway, children under 12 are not allowed to stay in any of those rooms. Anyway, I'm sure that place is great for other folks, but it wasn't meant to be for us.

I'm actually happy that the first place didn't work out, as I probably wouldn't have found the other place. Here is a link of the place where we'll be staying ~http://www.bungalowbeach.com/index.html

Looks lovely. Glad something better came along!

I hope you have a wonderful time.

Rita, the new place you found looks so fabulous! Take me with you!!! Oh please....pretty please with strawberries on top??!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Have a wonderful vacation. It looks sooooo relaxing!!

Yippee! I knew something better was meant to be!

You will have a great time, Rita! The beach is beautiful down there!

Glad it worked out so well for you Rita!! :) :)

The owner of the first place sounded a little anal anyway- by being honest about things you probably saved yourself from being stuck in a place where you had to worry all time about breaking a rule instead of being able tio relax and enjoy yourself. .

I've spent some time on Anna Maria Island and it's a very cool place. . have a great vacation!! :) :) :)

Wow,

AnnaMaria Island!

I have read about how lovely the area is. Never been down that far south on the Gulf Coast.

We'll need a trip report

Have fun,

herc.
