That's the Second Biggest Double Stroller I've Ever Seen- A Dec 2010 TR

Enjoying your trip report! I love finding ones with little kids since that's what I have - we're going with our turning-1-year-old and 3 1/2 year old in a month. Yours are so close in age, I don't know how you do it! I find our age gap a bit too close!

Thanks! I love reading TRs with little kids, too. I think in the long run, it's going to be easier having them close together. They already like all the same toys and games. Plus, I knew once I got Carter out of diapers, I'd never want to start over.

:woohoo: for camera being found; :sad2: for being lost (hope he is found soon).

Thanks! I still can't believe I couldn't find the camera. :confused3

I have to agree that Joyful puts on such a nice performance.

I ate at the Electric Umbrella as well and the bacon wasn't the greatest for me either. Hope the rest of your meals were good!

And Carter looks like he really enjoyed the fish life. Glad you could preoccupy him while Landon slept. :lmao:

"Living with the Landon" :lmao: too funny!!

I really love the counter services in WS, but I hate to walk all the way back there to eat, just to come back up to the front....my laziness always wins :rotfl:

I love those adorable, chubby baby cheeks on both of your boys!

Sounds like a great day so far!

"I'm sure Landon would like to be held while he sleeps. Til he wakes up, you can be Living with the Landon."

Oh my....I love it. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

What beautiful eyes Landon has.

I think it was extra cool, since we didn't expect it. I love how you never know what you will stumble upon at Disney.

Electric Umbrella was definitely the low point for us. I have a theory that the most expensive meal on the menu will usually be of the lowest quality, since that's what everyone on the Dining Plan would get. Not sure if it's true, though.

Carter did love The Seas. He's at a great age for it. I'm sure it won't be much longer until he's a teenager and too cool for it. :rotfl:

I find it rather ironic that you can run a half marathon, but don't want to walk to the back of WS! :lmao: I think we might have been willing to walk, but so many of the best places are outdoors. It was much too cold for that.

I love those adorable, chubby baby cheeks on both of your boys!

Thanks! They get those from me.

That was a very great day!

What beautiful eyes Landon has.

Thanks! It always makes me happy when Landon gets eye compliments. :)

So adorable!!! It seems like you are enjoying being tour guide! :wizard:

I was loving being the tour guide! It is so much fun to show everyone around and always know the best ways to get places. Really no one in my family should ever go to Disney without me!

When Joyful had finished, Dash and Ella wanted to go on some more rides. I suggested we go to World Showcase and ride the Three Caballeros and the Maelstrom.

It was kind of odd being back inside the Mexican pavilion. We had just been there last night and it always looks the same inside, no matter what time of day it is.

Our sense of deja vu was exacerbated when Carter trotted over to the glass skeletons and stuck his finger in the eye socket.

"Eye!" He giggled hysterically. Apparently, it was still just as funny the second time.

We rode the Three Caballeros. Carter loved it. He was really getting the hang of rides. He sat on the bench in the boat by himself, just like everyone else. Except for Landon, who was, of course, still a baby.

After the ride, we stopped at the fountain and let Dash, Ella, and Carter throw a penny in.

DSCI0141.JPG

I don't know what Carter wished for, but if I were to guess, I'd guess it was probably for another Chewy Caramel Bar.

The sun was bright as we exited the Mexican pyramid.

DSCI0142.JPG

It's always a big of a shock to come outside and find you are not actually in a Mexican marketplace at night.

The sun was definitely too bright for Landon.

DSCI0144.JPG

"Jeremy, the sun's in his eyes. Maybe if you held him another way..."

DSCI0147.JPG

"That's better, isn't it Landon?"

Carter got to ride to Norway on Pappy's shoulders. It was a nice break from always riding in the stroller.

DSCI0148.JPG

Norway is one of my favorite World Showcase countries. It's got the ever-awesome Maelstrom and a gigantic troll and really warm sweaters.

Jeremy asked me why we never eat at Akershus. I don't think he realized it was a Princess meal or he wouldn't have bothered asking.

"We don't have little girls to meet the Princess and I am very uneasy regarding the menu. I suspect there is a lot of pickled things. Anyway, if we ever do a Princess meal, I'd want to not bring the boys and go to Cinderella's Royal Table."

"Okay, we'll go to Cinderella's Royal Table one day. Just you and me."

We got on the Maelstrom with no wait. Landon sat with me and Carter stayed with Pappy. Landon liked the ride a lot, especially the drop, which made him laugh. He likes thrill rides.

When we got to the end, I saw Carter was fast asleep with Pappy. I don't know what it is about Pappy and boat rides that makes babies tired.

Luckily, we did not get stuck watching the movie. We spent a little bit of time playing around in the gift shops. Landon wanted to see the gigantic troll.

We left to find the stroller. Holding Landon while he naps is one thing, but Carter is much too heavy for that. We carefully transferred Carter to the backseat of the stroller, where he stretched out and continued to sleep.

Meanwhile, the others had spotted Kringla and were ready for snacks and coffees. Pappy and I pushed the stroller over to an out of the way place right by the Lagoon. Then, he left to go help the others and I waited with a sleeping Carter.

It was really pretty that day. It wasn't warm, but the sky was an amazing blue.

DSCI0158.JPG

I had a pretty good view of Norway from where I was sitting and it pleasant to sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery.

I saw Bhors coming toward me with a coffee. "Where's everybody else?"

"I don't know if they know where we are. I'll go back and get everyone."

Bhors left. A few minutes later, I saw Jeremy and Landon walking toward us, carrying a big tray of lefses and cloudberry horns. I took the tray and Landon, and Jeremy went back for more coffees.

DSCI0168.JPG

A bit later, Meg and her kids came over, with a plate of cookies and schoolbread. They actually stayed put, so that was good. We were only missing three.

DSCI0163.JPG

Jeremy returned with coffees. Bhors showed back up with another plate of schoolbread.

"Where's Pappy?"

No one knew. He knew where we were, since he had gotten me and Carter set up there. Pappy's sense of direction is impeccable. He would never forget where he left us.

DSCI0162.JPG

We waited and waited. After about five minutes, Pappy came over. "I stayed behind to pay for all of this."

It's always good when someone remembers to pay.

We dug in. My favorite was the cloudberry horns. The schoolbread got good reviews from our coconut eaters and the cookies were popular, too. No one liked the lefses the best.

As we ate, we discussed our favorite parts of the day so far. I liked Joyful the best. Ella liked Living with the Land. Dash's response was the best.

"What's your favorite, Dash?"

"Right now."

Maybe he's right. Maybe the best part of any Disney day is right now, whomever you happen to be with, whatever you're doing. Or maybe the best part of any Disney day is whenever you have cookies.

Great pictures of Norway. I agree...it is one of my favorite country's too.

Just thought I would chime in and say I'm enjoying your report! :thumbsup2

We ate at Akershus when we were there in September...I had booked "late" (66 days out) and I couldn't get a breakfast ressie...only lunch. I have two girls, so I really wanted to go there.

My girls were fine because there is a kids menu of course..and my husband will eat pretty much anything. Ha! Me however...well...I choked down two bites of the authentic Norweign chicken dish, and I couldn't take it anymore! They do have a cold buffet so I ate bread and cheese! :scared1: Hahahaha!

The poor waitress with her cute little accent..."is something wrong with your food mam?" Uh....no??? He,he!

The princess interaction was amazing though, and I would eat bread and cheese for my girls again any day. They both had lipstick kisses from all the love! But believe me...I will be up bright and early to book at 180 days this time...breakfast food for us this time! :rotfl:

Thanks! Someday I'm going to go ahead and buy myself one of those sweaters. :rotfl:

Hi! Thanks for joining in! I am sure Akershus would be a great place to take two little girls, even if all you get to eat is bread and cheese. :rotfl: I hope the bread and cheese was really, really good. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who finds Akershus' menu questionable!

Maybe someday, I will get a chance to take Ella to a princess meal. I am sure she would love it. She is at the age right now where she thinks face characters are real. Mickey Mouse is just a guy in a costume, but Cinderella is really the real Cinderella. :rotfl:

I'm with you. If I were to go back, it would be breakfast. We did lunch in 2007 for my 50th birthday (DH thought the food looked good). I had the traditional "meat loaf" meal and it was awful. Luckily, I liked the cheese and bread too.

Have to say, I agree with you on a lot of Disney-related stuff. Norway is one of the most awesome stops on the WS tour. I'm glad to hear Landon enjoyed Maelstorm, I wouldn't thought someone so young would like drops. It sounds like you have a future thrill ride junkie on your hands!

Hi Kate! I just picked up your TR yesterday and I'm all caught up. Your family is just adorable and your writing style is so sweet and funny. :goodvibes

I'll go ahead and admit that I'll probably just follow the links and I'll miss a lot of the conversation, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm here and looking forward to reading more. :thumbsup2

You got some really beautiful pictures of Norway, and I have to tell ya, I could live at the Kringla! They have GREAT lattes, and snacks!

Mexico is a fun way to spend a little while too. I doesn't surprise me that the boys loved the Donald Duck ride.

I think you'd be surprised at the menu at Akershus. We had a VERY yummy meatloaf like meal there, and the salmon sandwich is fabulous. The salad buffet does have herring in sour cream, but most of the stuff on it is pretty normal, like cheeses and fruit and macaroni salad.

I run to try and balance out my natural laziness :rotfl: I agree the best thing about Disney is the every current moment you are there, and then coming home planning for a new trip, and going again!!

I have always wanted to try a princess breakfast, you guys should do it!!

Loving your trip report. My family will be returning to Disney this spring with two todllers (ages 1 & 3), two pregnant mommies, and two daddies to keep things fun. We may not hit every park (which will be a scary first for me.) What ones have been the best/ most fun for Carter? By the way, your boys are just too cute!!

Question...do you know the exact name of the caramel bars? I want to be sure I get one in June! I have a norweigian sweater (I got mine at a Scandinavian shop near my house). It's lovely!!! I hear you on the norweigian food. I'm Swedish and have to suffer through traditional food at christmas. I douse most in ketchup, which is scoffed at by the "elders" of my family:laughing:.
