I cannot tell you guys how much it irks me when people use "gay" or "********" as an insult. It doesn't even make sense! I wish people would learn a lot of people are offended by such "insults".

Just to add, I'm not poking at anybody here. Just people in general.

Anyways, I try to avoid saying either one. Retarted slips out a lot, but not about people. More like inanimate objects.

Not like I yell, "stop it!" or anything, but it still is annoying to me. There's this guy in my school who will say "that's gay" in every other sentence. It's like, can't you think of anything else to say?
And as for that's retarted...I take more offense to this because my brother is autistic, and while that's different from being retarted, it still bugs me a bit. I had a friend who would say that's retarted, also like that guy, in every other sentence. She knew about my brother...I mean sure when you have the habit it's hard to stop. But if I were her I would make more of an effort to tone it down

Well you can't really compare an autistic person to a mentally challenged person IMO. They often have much higher IQs.

Mine too.

And I understand it's mostly just a habit more then used as an insult. I used to say both '********' and 'gay' just because a lot of people were using them and it just always slipped out. Luckily I broke that habit pretty quickly, but I still know a lot of my friends still say them.

And it's not as much I get offended, I just don't really get how they make sense when they're used like that.
And I'm sorry if I offended anybody on here who say it a lot, because that's definitely not what I intended.
