Ok, after all the "United 93" threads, let's lighten the "movie mood." What movies have you watched, both in theaters and at home, where you thought, "Well that's 2 hours of my life I will never get back!!" Or ask I put it, "I sat there wishing someone would just shoot me!!"

Name yours and why. Here's mine:

Troy- it was soooooooooooooooooo long and I can only take so much of Brad Pitt. Eric Bana was the only thing keeping me from leaving the theater.

Kingdom of Heaven- we got this one through Netflix. When were an hour into it, I paused it and turned to my hubby. I said, "We are an hour into this movie and there is not plot yet. I'll be in the office DISing :)"

Hideous Kinky- another Netflix. I love Kate Winslet and thought this one would be a good one. Not really.

I will think of more later. What about you??

Scary Movie 4. Not exactly 2 hours...but it felt like it.

I've seen a lot of movies that I knew would not be entertaining but I went for the sake of the people I was with. I'll not count those. I'd say Home Fries was a movie that I totally hated that I watched expecting to enjoy. I thought it would be a light comedy and it certainly wasn't.

"Elephant" - A horrible, terrible movie that is a fictional account of the school shooting murders at Columbine. My best friend (who likes all the independent movies) rented it.

Michelina, I saw Elephant too!!! When it finished, I said out loud, "What the crap was that?!?!"

Unfortunately there are so many....

Final Destination - WTH?
Point Break - I don't even know where to start with that one!
Hackers - to be fair, we rented this and I did not watch the whole thing, but the parts I saw were pitiful (certainly my opinion!)
Blair Witch Project - I think this was hyped so much that it ruined it for me.
The Final Cut - just boring, in my opinion

Generally these were movies "recommended" by DH's co-worker...we haven't taken his suggestions in quite some time.

I really hate paying money to see a crummy movie.

Oh where to begin.... lately, it was a copy of The Weatherman with Nicholas Cage. That was movie-worthy?

Rocky 3. It wasn't 2 hours, but it was awful. I refused to see any other Rocky movie after that, not even on TV.

Napoleon Dynamite.....just about the worst thing I ever saw...
The Anchorman....I get tired of Will Ferrell screaming.....
Half-Baked....I just don't get British humor... :confused3

I said those exact words a month ago after seeing Failure to Launch. I swear DH and I could've written a better script. What was the point of that whole bird subplot- to hear the F word? :confused3

LOL! Those may have been my exact words!!

Vanilla Sky.

Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about this one. I got that one and watched it the other day. My hubby, not interested in watching a Cruise movie, watched something else. He asked me, "So how was your movie?" My response, "I have no idea." He says, "What was it about?" My reply, "I don't have a clue."

LOL!!

I wasted a good friggin' bottle of Sangiovese on SIDEWAYS! I can't believe that piece o' crap [nods to Dan Murphy for gratuitous use of "crap"] got an Oscar nod. I'm still mad about that one and getting worked up all over again just thinking about it.

Also saw GOSFORD PARK and to this day have no idea what it was about.

Recently, what comes to mind is The Libertine. I know Johnny Depp is known for weird movies, and I've seen, and liked, almost all of them, but this was just awful. Looking at JD wasn't even worth it.

Long ago, my cousin wanted to go to the movies with her DH, me, and my DH, before we were married. They had seen Two Minute Warning, about snipers at a football game or something. They wanted to see it again!
After that horrible episode, I'm surprised DH married me - he thought my relatives were nuts! :rotfl2:

I remember feeling that way in the "Island of Dr. Moreau" or something like that - w/ Val Kilmer. It was awful!!
