THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED!!! The Incredible(s) Trip to Disney

I love that website you postes!! That is so cool!

And I am afraid we might start collecting pins this year for our daughter. It might become an addiction.

Welcome and thanks for stopping by! Minimus is addicting. There's absolutely nothing "mini" about the quantity I want to order off that site!! :rotfl:

Smileybug!!!.....YAY!...you're here!

Hey, Smileybug and Tinkerbellarella, no hijacking my thread!! :rotfl2: That would be utterly Seuss-orrific (not to be confused with Seuss-errific!)

.

Well, it's about time you showed up. Being late to ones own thread cannot be considered proper seusification.

But I like your PTR. When do we get more?

I just love me some free food.

Free TS rocks, but free CS ain't nothin' to sneeze at, either!

Which would just be gross....:crazy2: And then who'd want to eat THAT?!

Anywho, when you are paying OOP for your food, if you are on a budget, you tend to look for the most economical restaurants from which to feed your brood. I mean, we could argue that counter-service is counter-service and there's not much difference in prices, but this is a PTR....

NOarguinginmyPTR.

I will just say that not all CS eateries are created equal.

One of the CS places that is on my non-list is Flame Tree BBQ in AK. And despite the menu offerings being much to our liking, a main reason for wanting to eat here is because of the background music they play in the area. Blame it on Live365.

I am also really looking forward to eating at the Riverside Mill food court at POR.

The food court?!?!

Yes, the food court. Pick your jaw up off the floor, you'll catch mice that way.

Just like POR isn't "just a resort" to us, neither is Riverside Mill "just a food court." It's part of Port Orleans and we love it. It has great atmosphere and some darn good eats to boot.

And, I have fond memories of our last trip, when Dash 1 (DS8) said during dinner there one night, "Mom, for some reason, I'm having fun at the resort." It was simply one of those moments when you're just really feelin' good about life, and being on vacation, all is right with the world. Well, your world, anyway.

Riverside Mill is also where I begin each Disney day.

With my coffee walk...

Miraculously, at Disney I can hop out of bed at 6:00am, well-rested and ready for a new day, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and all that stuff (what is that a reference to, anyway??!). So, having laid out my clothes the night before, I dress, put on my face, grab my All-Powerful & All-Magical KTTW card, and stroll on over to the food court to fill our mugs with coffee.

And you know what?....when you're waaaaay in the back in Building 34, it's quite a hike!! :rotfl:

But I loved those early-morning walks. Most of the time the sun was just coming up. The air was coolish but muggy and you could feel the summer day coming. Sometimes I'd walk the long way around, following the river past the Mansions buildings, and wishing with all my heart that I could live in the South...

*sigh...* :cloud9:

So, where were we?

Food!

How about some specific food items that are my [non-] list:

*A smoked turkey leg These will forever remind of that TV ad last fall, with the little boy who's talking about the food he had and he's really rambling on... "Green beans, mashed patadas, two turka legs and a piece o' pumpkin pie!" So, when DH and I refer to these, they are "turka legs."

*Frozen lemonade So simple but ooooh-so-good. Really hits the spot on a hot Florida afternoon.

*Cheese fries from Casey's So bad for you but ooooh-so-good. Just an order of fries from the counter, then liberally covered with the cheese sauce located next to the ketchup. Probably death-on-a-plate.

*Dole Whip This one surprises me, because they've never really appealed to me, but I hear so much about them here on the DIS that I'm gonna give it the ol' college try. Whatever that means.

*Churro Something else that gets rave reviews around here. But I'm all about Mexican food so I'm good with it.

*Fudge from the Main Street Confectionary No further explanation needed.

*The Milky Way an adult concoction served up at the Sci-Fi Dine In. A chocolate shake blended with peppermint Schnapps.... Heaven in a glass!

Wow, now I'm hungry...

Incredible Quote:

Syndrome: Oh, no. Elastigirl? You married Elastigirl? Ho, ho, ho...
[sees the kids]
Syndrome: Oh - and got biz-zay! It's a whole family of supers! Looks like I hit the jackpot! Oh, this is just too good!

:rotfl:

.

Mmmm....The Milky Way....mmmmmmm.

I'm hungry. Again. :headache:

For some reason those turkey/turka legs just don't appeal to me. I think it's because I am not a huge turkey fan to begin with, yeah that's got to be it.

I know just how you feel. How is it that it is so hard to get up at home but so easy at Disney?
But you are not really going to order a Turkey Leg are you?!
;)

"Sigh" Oh man...you are gonna get me in trouble with my trip. :goodvibes

Now I've never had any of those things (still not having BEEN to WDW yet) BUT I have had the churros from Disneyland and they are RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. Crisp on the outside (fresh from the fryer!), soft on the inside and covered in cinnamon sugar... is there anything better?!

You are going to have the time of your life!!!  :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2: :goodvibes I am soooo excited for you!!

I will just say that not all CS eateries are created equal.

So very true.

One of the CS places that is on my non-list is Flame Tree BBQ in AK. And despite the menu offerings being much to our liking, a main reason for wanting to eat here is because of the background music they play in the area. Blame it on Live365.

This is, I think, hands down (yeah, add that one to the 'to be explained' list), my favorite CS in all of the parks.
At least today.
I reserve the right to change my Libran mind.

With my coffee walk...

Next you'll be calling it 'brown water served warm'.
Shall I call you ZZUBarella?
;)

bright-eyed and bushy-tailed

I'm going with raccoons with an Ambien prescription.

But I loved those early-morning walks. Most of the time the sun was just coming up. The air was coolish but muggy and you could feel the summer day coming.

Mornings are one of my favorite times at Disney.
Very closely following any time in which I'm eating.
:thumbsup2

AWWWW YEAH!
Death-on-a-plate?
Nah.
No calories in Disney World.

:flower3:

Miraculously, at Disney I can hop out of bed at 6:00am, well-rested and ready for a new day, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and all that stuff (what is that a reference to, anyway??!).

I think it's in reference to a squirrel. :rotfl:

Hi! i'm loving your report and your incredibles quotes, so much so that last night i popped the dvd in to watch xD

MMMMMM. . .Fudge. I absolutely love me some fudge.

And why is it on vacation, you can get up oh so early, but when you are at home, the snooze bar receives more exercise than you? Or at least that is how I am.

Hi LegoMom3!!

I'm all caught up and climbing aboard to hear more of your plans. I'm with you -- just as excited about the food as anything else. How many times can a person review the menus online? Let's just say a lot. :rolleyes1 And anything termed "death on a plate" certainly earns its way onto my "must try" list, so thanks for the recommendation!! :)

Mmmm....The Milky Way....mmmmmmm.

........

Yeah, I know.... :cloud9:

I know just how you feel. How is it that it is so hard to get up at home but so easy at Disney?

Well heck yeah! I love me some smoked meats. Any. And I eat turkey at Thanksgiving; same bird, different way of cooking it!! :upsidedow

"Sigh" Oh man...you are gonna get me in trouble with my trip. :goodvibes

Come to the Dark Side, Smileybug....:darth:

:rotfl:

Apparently not because I am wanting one of those NOW. Cinnamon/sugar on any kind of fried dough/pastry = YUM - O!

.....

...........:flower3:

NEVER! I guess I'm not as much of a coffee snob as The Zzub. Or maybe it's just Disney. But I've never found reason to complain about the coffee from POR that I put in that mug each morning.

I think it's in reference to a squirrel. :rotfl:

Hi and welcome aboard! :goodvibes Don't you love The Incredibles?! Great movie! And very quotable....

I haven't figured that one out yet but it is 100% true. Go figure.

Hi and welcome to you, too!! Glad you're enjoying the ride so far. And you cannot review on-line Disney menus "too many" times. No such thing. You've GOT to try the cheese fries!! One of my favorite snacks in the World. :lovestruc

...to bring you this Humorous Moment:

funny-pictures-hamster-has-the-happiest-nom-ever.jpg

I need to make a t-shirt with "Free Dining...." on the front, and THIS on the back!!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

.

Not only did you close one thread and move to another... you started a PTR and didn't tell me....

Hmm... does anyone here kind of get that perhaps... now I am only saying perhaps...

She didn't want me here because of my endless babbling?

Hmm... seems then that she should have kid that little link by her name or say only pee-poles invited could come.

It's too late... I have already read what you wrote so far. You can't stop me now.
