That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

A live TR that in no way displaces a 'regular' TR?!? AWESOME!! Best of both worlds! NOMileyCyrus.

Hope you have a FANTASTIC trip!!

What I didn't know was that my writing would result in one of the greatest gifts God (or the Powers that Be...or the Big Bang...or evolution...whatever your cup of tea is) can grant us.

Friendship.

I have met SO MANY wonderful people thanks to some words I tossed onto the net earlier this year. Y'all are funny, intelligent, caring, beautiful people. And it doesn't hurt that you like Disney too. This life isn't really worth living without the other people in it and so by "meeting" all of you, it's really made MY life feel more full and worthwhile. I hope I bring to your lives a fraction of what you've brought to mine.

I wish I could meet every single one of you in person someday, perhaps in the very place we all share a love for. So many people criticize, laugh at or even dislike Disney. I say this, if it's something that brings people together, people who otherwise likely never would've met, and it inspires friendship and laughter, something this world is in desperate need of these days, it's ok in my book.

There are many things for which I'm thankful - my health, my job, my family and friends, the ability to take this trip, all of YOU. While Disney is a place to have fun, it often puts into perspective other things in Life for me - people I've lost and people I still have. While nothing could fully fill the hole left behind when those people move on to whatever is waiting for us next, I'm happy to say that there is a comfortable padding that new friends provide, something that dulls that ache which is just as irreplaceable as those no longer with me. I'm grateful for you all in ways I could never convey in words.

Thank you for reading this lil pre-trippie of mine. Thanks for laughing with me, crying with me, and thank you in advance for confirming my alibi (FYI-"I was DISing) when Disney Dining comes looking to serve me with a restraining order. My only goal, in terms of having people reading this report, was to put a smile on your faces and laughter in your hearts.

Happiness is the strongest medicine.

Thanks for being my daily dose.

:flower3:

Thank YOU Tink!! :goodvibes

Well, looky here, looky here.
It's me, your very own trip reporting checking in LIVE from the World.

This will be a very brief update as I, quite literally, have had to insert toothpicks into my eyeballs to keep my eyelids open.

Let me just say this. Today has included:

TWO very, VERY unpleasant surprises/semi-crises.
TWO very, VERY, VERY unexpected and welcome surprises.
20 pretty painted piggies.
A THREE HOUR dinner with my long, lost sis who is, the Sweetest. Person. Ever.
Oh, and Missy and I are now drafting plans to kidnap her son and her husband is a total riot.

But that's all I'm telling you for now. Perhaps another post in the morning.

But right now we're ready to turn of the lights and SNOOZE.

Just wanted to let y'all know we've arrived safely and HAPPILY in the World.

:flower3:

***Note to the mods - please don't move this to the TR board. I will be starting a new TR thread. I just don't have time to set it up tonight. THANKS!

Oh, what TEASERS!!!

Glad to hear that you made it safely and that you had a wonderful dinner with TK!

May you have magical dreams!!!

:dance3: I know where you ate!...I know where you ate!! :dance3:

I'm dying to know about the two unpleasant surprises/crises, though!

Hope you're having a blast!!

Well duh how could you not.....

Good morning all!

Your gal Tink here, checking in from a seat with a view of the white sandy beaches of the Poly. The morning has dawned overcast and humid but my face is just all sorts of sunny. :goodvibes

We tucked in early-ish last night and, as expected, my body clock woke me up at 5:00 a.m. I lazed around in bed, napping for a couple of hours and got up around 7:00 a.m. to take a walk around the resort.

I took some pretty "empty" pictures as not many people were up and about yet. LL, I have a "lamp" picture for you too. ;) I can't post them this morning, as my signal is not great where I am. I'll try to get some for you in the next day or so.

The room is beautiful.
The resort is beautiful.
LIFE is beautiful.

...

Can you tell I'm at Disney?!?!

I talked to BF a bit this morning, filled him in on the details of what's happened so far. We played a bit of phone tag yesterday and even though it's been just over 24 hours since I last saw him, I miss him. :sad1:

We're getting a slow, late start this morning. Yesterday was a looooong day, with, as I mentioned, some unexpected surprises, both good and bad. I want to save the full stories for the resort, but I'm not totally cruel so I'll at least tell you that the crises included car trouble on the way to the airport and vomit and the wonderful surprises included not one but TWO upgrades!!!
I'm going to head down to wake Missy up shortly. She REALLY needed some extra sleep, so I figured 11 hours should suffice.

We're heading to Epicot today, and, looking up at the sky it seems the cloud cover is starting to burn off. It's definitely going to be a HOT one though. Neutrogena SPF 85 anyone?

I'll probably be posting once a day, in the mornings like this, so I hope to see you all tomorrow!!

I am so excited for the lamp picture! :goodvibes
Tink you have convinced me that I need a laptop before my next WDW trip! ;)

Did your room upgrade include a view of a certain castle???

I think I need a laptop so that I can bring it to WDW! :lmao:

Have fun at Epicot!

So how was Epicot?!

A THREE HOUR dinner
Was it really three hours? :goodvibes
with my long, lost sis who is, the Sweetest. Person. Ever.
Awww...right back at you, kid!

Oh, and Missy and I are now drafting plans to kidnap her son
My schedule's open! ;)

and her husband is a total riot.

I don't know if I'll tell him that. Don't want to over-inflate the ego. Then again, the man is sick. Maybe an ego boost would offset that he's now lost his voice.

I love that you're posting from the World! And it eases my PDD to know that you're still there, having a great time. Meeting you and Missy was a pleasure, and I hope, a great way to kick off your vacay. In addition to the two surprises. Tee hee.

So keep posting so I can live vicariously through you! And know that when you get back, appointment books will be taken out...plans will be made...and you will be coming to my house for dinner.;)

So glad to hear that your having a good time so far in the world!

Can't wait to hear about the good and the bad!

Good morning from the World!

Thought I'd check in with y'all right quick this morning while Missy is getting ready. Today is MK day, with Le Cellier for dinner and MNSSHP tonight.

Epicot was wonderful. We got there a little late after a morning "adventure" but were able to do all of Future World in under 5 hours. The lines are practically non-existant. We needed FPs for Soarin' to avoid the 55 minute wait (around 11;30 a.m. - return time around 1:30 p.m.) and for Test Track, which, around 3:00 p.m. had an 80 minute wait!!! The return time for those FP's was about 4:20 or so. Everything else, five minutes or less. Even the green side of Mission Space was a walk-on! Dinner in Mexico was lovely and we drank our way around parts of the World. We'll be returning tomorrow night to hit up what we missed and for our dinner at Tutto Italia.

Went to MGM (NODHS) yesterday. Again, everything was a walk-on except:
ToT around 2 p.m. (FP's available for 3:10) and Toy Story Mania. We arrived at the park around 10:30 and got FPs for that with a return time of 3:25. Definitely an indication again of how crowded the parks aren't!!! TSM was fun.

Mostly.

See, I was having this little "possible vomit issue" thanks to our visit to the Hollywood Tower Hotel and the spinning of TSM kind of exacerbated that.

Other than that, a little rain yesterday but we were still able to catch Fantasmic.

Will check in again but we'ere about ready to head out!

TTFN!!!

keep the updates coming! I'm in a funk and I need my Disney magic wherever I can get it!
