That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

Tammi - When did you send your ressie through Costco? We almost did that too for the gift card..... Should have. I'm going with what Disney has posted for now. Just wondering if one or the other has recently changed? GC is the one I'm most concerned about.....
I went back and checked my original ressie with Costco and it shows the same times that I listed for them in my post above. I am hoping that they just haven't updated it from Disney or got it wrong to begin with...... Seems like Disney should know what they are doing....

Kara, what time is our excursion in GC?

8am.... I told them that I was worried about getting off the ship in time and they said, no worries, just whenever we get there is fine!

So, I just got off the phone with DCL about our itinerary. The very nice agent looked up my reservation and told me she shows the below port times for our cruise (with the caveat that, as always, all are subject to change for a multitude of reasons). She actually gave me the ship arrival, all ashore, all aboard, and ship departure times for each port.

Key West 12:30 pm - 7:30 pm (arrive at noon; not scheduled to leave port until 10 pm but she couldn't say why we had to be on board so early)

Grand Cayman 7:30 am - 4:30 pm (arrive at 7 am; leave at 4:45 pm)

Cozumel 9:30 am - 6:30 pm (arrive at 8:15 am, she thought there were probably customs issues causing the delay in getting off the ship; leave at 6:45 pm)

Castaway Cay 9:30 am - 4:30 pm (arrive at 8:15 am, need time for the crew to unload and get things ready for us; leave at 5 pm)

I really hope these are the correct times!

THANK YOU for calling on this! Those times look great!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks from me too!! I was freaking out a bit about the GC times since they were so different. It is curious that what they told you on the phone for Key West is different than what is on the DCL website. HMM!:confused3 But if we are going to be shorted on port time anywhere, I would pick Key West.

Kara,

I booked this with COSTCO on 5/16. Their itinerary hasn't changed from when I booked to when I got my PIF confirmation. They must be wrong. Glad to hear our excursion people are flexible. It's 1/2 day, right? So we shouldn't have any issues with getting back on time.

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ready for this.

Yup, 1/2 day or a 4 hour tour (I made sure to stay away from those 3 hour tours.... 3 hour tourrrrrrrrr).

Getting ready to book cabana and Palo in 8 minutes!!!

Stayed up til Midnight and booked Cabana #4 - the LAST family cabana available! I'm thinking this is gonna be a full cruise!

Also, I could only book the Palo brunch online for 3, so when they open today at 9 I will call and up it.... hoping for the private room!

Woohoo! Stayed up last night and got everything I wanted.
Just did my online check in and got 11:00 port arrival time:banana:

OK, here's the dill.... pickles.....

Everyone needs to book their own Palo brunch ressies and ask to be seated with us. Tammi, I was able to book you with us since our ressies are linked for dinner.

I booked 10am on March 31. I really hope we can get a big group - think it will be lots of fun, especially on Day 2 of the cruise!

:goodvibesOk, we are checked in w 11am port arrival and 10 am Palo on the 31st. :goodvibes Kara, there wasn't any note spot or anything to indicate sitting with a group - I guess we ask for that when arrive for brunch?

I went through all the port activities and nothing was sold out yet as of 11 this morning. I did see a couple spa things sold out but, surprisingly, it tended to be the more expensive stuff like the $600 his and hers deluxe spa something or other. Simple massages, facials and manicures were open on all days. Though I didn't book any, I was just curious what types of things sold out first. Apparently it is indeed the Castaway cabanas!

Question: I reserved a couple port activities just in case I change my mind for the millionth time, but I can't see how to un-reserve them. It says in small print port excursions can be cancelled up to three days before departure w/out penalty but i can only see how to add things to my reservation, not remove them. Anyone? Otherwise I'll have to email my TA I guess.

I'm so glad you were able to get the cabana, Kara, but no surprise since Santa had already promised you would! :goodvibes You'll love it. If one opens up before we cruise I may try to do one again as well.

I made a 10 am reservation too. I think if more than 10 of us book, we can call DCL with the individual names and cabin #s and they will put us all together in the private room. I believe that's how it worked on a previous cruise although I didn't join the group that time.

Go to your Cruise Activities and click on the actual day you have an activity booked (up on top, where it says Day 1, Day 2, etc). You will then see the excursion, times, and who's going, and there are links over on the right to modify or cancel the booking.

Since so many of us got an 11 am port arrival time and plan to be there early, we should pick a spot in the terminal to meet and say hello! :)

Hello everyone,

Trying to get my itinerary started. Here is what I have so far:
Friday - Depart Port Canaveral, Casual dress for dinner
Saturday - Key West 12:30 pm - 7:30 pm, Cruise casual for dinner
Sunday - At sea, Formal or Semi-formal night for dinner
Monday - Grand Cayman 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Cruise casual for dinner
Tuesday - Cozumel 9:30 am - 6:30 pm, Pirate night for dinner
Wednesday - At sea, Formal or Semi-formal night for dinner
Thursday - Castaway Cay 9:30 am - 4:30 pm, Cruise casual for dinner
Friday - Arrive Port Canaveral

Does this look right? Any ideas on which night will be formal vs. semi-formal?

Ah ha! Thank you so much!!!! I didn't realize you could click the actual day, just saw the 'add activity' option. Your directions were perfect, thanks again.

UMTerp: I show formal night is the first at sea day (Sunday night). The rest of the schedule matches mine.

The online reservation system seems really slow today. Just wait until tomorrow when all those silver folks on the Fantasy maiden voyage can start reserving stuff! One more reason I'm glad I'm on the Magic.

Kara - is the list on page one current for FE? I hope to get started on that soon.

We got 11 a.m., too. Is that the earliest time?

Also, I was going to book the Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach excursion, but the only time available was 7:15 a.m.! Not on vacation! I booked Rum Point Beach instead. Anyone have any experience with that?

I am resevered for the 10a.m. brunch.

I feel your pain on the Seven Mile Beach excursion -- I felt the same way! We did Rum Point the last time we did the western and really enjoyed it. The beach is beautiful! And there are plenty of chairs! Lunch was good too!.

Dylcal, since you've done Grand Cayman before, can you tell me how the tendering works - specifially if you don't have a dis excursion planned? I assume if there is a 7:15 seven mile beach excursion the first tendering boat must be pretty early, so maybe by noon the people who just want to check things out on their own get to go over???

Tendering is easy- they will announce which gangway is open. You go down, they scan your key to the world card, you board the tender. When the tender is full, it heads over. If it's busy, you may have to wait for another boat, but it's way easy. Don't stress it! ;)

Yeah! Just got checked in. It never occurred to me to do the check-in last night, but then I got worried that I might not get the 11:00 port arrival. We are in for 11:00 - YEAH:yay::woohoo::yay:

Just got back from taking the kids skiing and dinner at friends.....

A great Colorado day. Blizzard in the morning and sunny blue skies and dry roads on the way home...... Multiple over-turned semis due to hurricane force winds.... Crazy!

Kara,
Thanks for getting brunch setup for me. I am so glad that worked out.

HAPPY NEW YEARS to ALL!!

I believe that Sunday is Pirate and Princess dinner, so that is formal night....

I will update it this week. It's close only 2 more families to add I think....

Yes, 11am is the earliest now. And from what I understand the port does not open til then.

Do y'all want to do a meet there or on the ship around 3pm? I think this is what we did last year, right before muster drill, in the Promenade Lounge.....

Although 3 people came up to me in the port, "Are you Kara?" I thought Jeff was gonna fall over each time! :rotfl2:

Is that different from Pirate night? I booked Palo for dinner on Sunday, but DD would probably want to dine with us for something like that.
