That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

Thanks! We will be seeing you at the Hyatt! Lucky being able to go solo! Maybe I will get my chance soon when my son goes off to scollege -- as long as it is a state one and not the private one he was interested in:scared1:Otherwise there goes my "cruise" money!!!:lmao:

These darn kids, don't they get it? I mean, I've got Ally needing braces..... that is also cruise money! :rotfl2:

I guess I shouldn't joke, when we left the ortho's office this summer she was very quiet in the backseat and when I asked if she was nervous about getting braces, she said, "No, but I'm afraid because they are so expensive." I told her not to worry about that and she started to tear up..... "But if you have to pay for my braces, how can we go on another cruise?"

Just adding money to her therapy account daily..... :lmao:

Oh your daughter is precious! I love her thinking.

I will look into it. Although living 15 minutes away from BWI, it will be hard driving to Dulles:rolleyes: but the money saved would mean more to spend on the cruise!:rotfl2:

Happy Thursday everyone! Rainy here in the DC area -again. Listening to my FE Cruise CD over and over at work and am in the mood to cruise...

where is everyone?....

Happy Friday! :cool1: Bummer about the rainy weather - it's just gorgeous here in Las Vegas - blue skies and 90 degrees. :goodvibes Our fall weather helps make up for the 110 degree summers.

It really is quiet around here...we need to get some chatter going to help make the time go by faster!

OK -- I am jeolous!! Still raining here but should clear up for the weekend! Yes it has been quiet! Still haven't made the airline reservations. I am hoping for cheaper fares. I have found a few but don't like the times, etc, so have resigned myself to paying higher costs for what I want.

Anybody else doing some planning??

Hey guys! It's been pretty chilly here in northern Nevada, but the afternoons warm up into the 60-70's so that's quite nice! I'm still working on getting this adventure paid off before I figure out any extras like excursions. If only I could find that elusive money tree...

Can't wait to get back onto that ship I love! ;)

glad you got the nice weather - now I know where I need to visit. Weekend was nice and week so far is great weather wise.

You are right - we need more chatter.

so....how are those Fish Extender gifts coming along?....

Ours are in process. Figured I had better start now or I would be up all night before we leave trying to finish. :)

Kate

Beautiful Indian Summer here in South Carolina!!! In the 80's over the weekend which made it perfect for us to WIN the golf tourney we played in! :cool1:

I haven't even begun FE gifts yet. I actually thought about doing what I did on our last cruise as they seemed to be a big hit, but that would be cheesy, right? I need to figure out something new..... I'm really wanting to wait until after Christmas as we have a better idea how many will be participating. We haven't had anyone new come along for awhile, have we?

So busy right now with PTO at Ally's school - we have our big fundraiser next week, our annual Fall Festival. After that we have poinsettia and wreath sales, and then I should be able to relax for awhile........

And I hate winter sooooo much, and the only thing getting me through knowing that winter, and ice, and maybe snow, and cold are right around the corner, is knowing that the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel has a horn that plays "when you wish upon a star." :goodvibes

And I feel like a cheater.... I just booked RCI's Freedom of the Seas for NEXT spring break, 2013! As much as I love Disney, and believe me, I'm a nut, I'm really excited for that ship. As soon as we got back from our last cruise, we started youtubing different cruise ships to see what we wanted next and Jeff and I both agreed that FOTS really seems to have a lot to offer. Plus the fact that they sail out of PC is good for us because it's an easy drive so that saves lots of $$$.

I'm going on the Dream in May with my DISmoms, but for some reason, that ship just does not excite me. I LOVE the Magic as far as Disney goes, but after that, I just think that DCL really dropped the ball with the pools and pool decks on the Dream. Now it does look like they've corrected some of those errors on the Fantasy.

So.... how many days? When I updated my phone I lost all my apps so I don't have it to check!!!!

I spoke too soon.... rainy and damp and cold and nasty here today.... :sad2:

Is it March yet?

Is anyone else overwhelmed with the excursion choices in ports? Right now I'm most relaxed thinking about Key West because I just plan on a walk down Duval St and a nice adult bevvie in Sloppy Joe's! But my head is spinning researching Cozumel and Grand Cayman.....

Aw - my type of girl! That is my plan as well for Key West -- although I did notice a speed boat excursion which my son may enjoy so I will have to imbibe after:rotfl2: We may stay on the boat for the other two as we have been there before and the excursions are the same. We love the beach but been there done that! There was an adventure park at one of the ports with Zip-lines, dune buggys, and water which is also something my son would enjoy and I have always wanted to Zip-line -- I am afraid of heights :scared1: but would force myself!

My only dilemna in Key West is where to imbibe??? Margaritaville or Sloppy Joe's? :rotfl2: Poor Ally, that is her birthday and she wants to do what SHE wants to do. So how to convince an 11 year old that she'll enjoy Sloppy Joe's?

ZIP LINE???? Where???? We booked that RCI cruise in 2013 and originally were on the Western where we went to Haiti and their private area there where Ally and I were so excited for the zip line! Then we had to change our date to the Eastern which takes us to their island in the Bahamas and no zip line..... I would love to surprise her with this on this cruise!!!

sloppy joe's! definitely.

yep a tad overwhelmed with the choices. Glad I have a few more months before I can make ressies. Thinking we are going low key this time.

sunny here again after rain yesterday so happier now. Wish I could fit in another cruise before March. :) just to tide me over ya'know?

Got an email from airline with flight change info - was assuming it was for upcoming business trip but no it is for cruise flight. First thing I could see, reading it on my phone is our departure is delayed 30 minutes on the way home. oh ok - we are ok with that. Then when I get back to the computer I see instead of leaving at 1130 in the morning we are now leaving at 9am. yikes. so much for kids going to school to get attendance in and drop off assignments etc. So much for the leisurely morning double checking. Now we have to be up early, really make sure we are totally ready the night before. Wonedring if I should just stay up the night before.....

I know that in the whole scheme of things this is not that bad but getting the email sure turned my day over.

Has this happened to you? What did you do?

kate

Kate, that flight issue happened to us on a Delta flight very recently. I called them and told them the change didn't work with our schedule and they put us all on a different flight (a later one) with no change fee. It's funny b/c I had orginally wanted that later flight but it cost $100 more per ticket so I passed it up, and then got it anyway...it all worked out. I suggest calling to see what they'll do.

BONUS!!!! :thumbsup2

We are fortunate that we are only a 9 hour drive from the port. And it's actually a pretty funny drive for us..... at least last time. The whole time from the backseat.....:sad2:

Not sure if this time will be MORE exciting, or less, since we know what to expect. Jeff just told me the other night that he was NOT looking forward to our last cruise at all. :scared1: Of course, after it was done he admitted it was his favorite vacation of all time, but for whatever reason, he did not think we'd like it. He was just appeasing me though, because I was so bummed that we'd moved so far away from WDW...... And luckily, he was pleasantly surprised......

160 days???? :cool1:

Where to imbibe - I will probably go to both places! :rotfl:Of course it is easier for me -- my son is 17 and will probably still be in bed!!:rotfl2:

Check out the link below for the excursion:

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/c...excursions/cozumel-mexico/xplor-park-cozumel/

There is another Adventure Park that also has ziplines but this one has the amphibius vehicles, zip-lines, and tube/rafting. Looks like fun!

Nothing better than having the phone ring, and caller id simply says, "Cayman Islands." :thumbsup2 It was Fat Fish Adventures calling me to book our excursion, per my request.

I booked for my family and Tammi and her daughter (froglady) but we still have room for up to THREE more if anyone is interested in splitting the excursion. We are doing the boat tour that goes to Stingray City, Starfish Beach, another snorkeling spot, and a beach with bar/restaurant for lunch...... They will pick us up at 8:30 and off we go!

I liked the look of this place and the trip advisor reviews that I found. Plus, it's a private excursion so won't be as crazy crowded when we are snorkeling or hangin with the rays..... (yeah, that's me sounding cool, talking about stingrays! :rotfl2:).

Anyway...... we can change from 5 people to 8 at any point so just let me know if you are interested!!!
