That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

Hi all,

Subscribing to this thread. Just booked a couple of days ago. We changed our cruise from Mexican Riviera to this one. It was quite more expensive but the logistics and other plusses outweighed the cost.

Thanks and looking forward to it.....

welcome! So excited you will be cruising with us. !

Hi, I am new to the boards. Just booked my family on our 1st Disney Cruise. We will be on the Disney Magic for 3/30/12. Just found out about FE. We are from Northern VA and wanted to know if we could still join. If it is too late, perhaps we could could just meet.

Jen

Welcome Jen! I am so excited for all these folks from in and around NoVa. We are in Vienna.

Hmmmm you know with so many people in and around Washington Metro area we could do a pre-cruise meet..... or a post cruise reunion....

Hi ladies! I havent been on much, and almost totally forgot about the disboards somehow?! :scared1:
If you knew me, you would understand im not very internet savvy. My daughter has to help me everyday. I swear i spend about an hour trying to put pictures on my computer and she comes in and it takes a minute! You either got it or ya dont :confused3
We are SO flustered as is, and i hope you guys would be ok if my fam and i skipped out on the FE? But if youre still interested in any other information, just ask :)
DH booked me the "Exotic Rasul", and a pedicure! I was reading Kara's trip report, which is phenomenal, and i saw you got the Exotic Rasul? How was it?

We are just down the road from you! We are near Robinson SS. We have only lived here for 1 1/2 years. I grew up in Southern California.

No worries about the FE, but hopefully you can try to make the meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3pm the day we leave?

Oh, the Exotic Rasul..... keep reading my TR.... :rotfl2:

THIS cruise, we booked a cabana on Castaway Cay and my girlfriends sent me a gift card for a massage on board. So no exotic Rasul for me. I think I am too high strung for that...... Read on, my friend, you'll see what I mean! :lmao:

And I went to Robinson in 8th grade, but moved to Lake Braddock in 9th when it opened! Now that really dates me!!!!:rotfl:

Of corse we will participate in the meet! How could we miss it?

Oh I've read it. I'm over here dreading that I will be stuck with Chelsea Chuckle over there, and she is going to make magic kingdom on a hot summer day more relaxing!

By the way, we will be in stateroom 6576! Even though we will unfortionatly not be participating in the fish extender exchange I was unsure if the information is needed.

What are everyone's excursion plans?

Here are ours:

Key West - Walk to Southern-most point, Butterfly pavilion, key lime pie
Grand Cayman - Native Way - Reef, Rays, and Rum Point
Cozumel - Taxi to Chankanaab

Anyone else doing one of these?

Key West, just walking around.... Sloppy Joe's, Southernmost Pt, Frozen key lime pie pop, maybe Margaritaville.
GC - Private excursion (we still have room for 3 more if anyone wants to join us and FrogLady (Tammi) and her daughter Tori!) via Fat Fish Excursions, to Stingray City, snorkeling, etc.
Cozumel - Mr Sanchos

I'm really nervous about GC. Those stingrays are HUGE! I just know Ally is going to freak and stay on the boat. And I'm really hoping I can get in the water with them.....

Key West - Walking around. Must find good key lime pie - we'll probably have to sample several places :). Also want to go to Hemmingway House, the cemetary, and the southern-most point.
Grand Cayman - Native Way Reef, Rays & Rum Point - with fellow DISers, yay! :cool1: DD is happy there will be other teens on the trip with us.
Cozumel - Tulum ruins
CC - parasailing

1) Key West. Probably a little butterfly farm. Maybe some souveneer shopping on Duvall. Back to the ship. Maybe during happy hour time (around dusk) go to that street festival and watch the sun go down.

2) Cozumel. Likely Mr. Sanchos beach on our own: Pay the all-inclusive fee. Sit back and have drinks and food all day while the kids play in the sand and ocean with the water slides (yes the extra fee is annoying but it is all about the kids, right?). Swim in the pool - maybe do some waverunning, maybe catch a quick snorkelling trip.

3) Grand Cayman: Probably Capt. Marvins all day with 3 stops and lunch at Rum point - But - we have thinking about contacting a local dive operator and arranging a specialized dive trip for us - A combined snorkle/dive trip for DH/DW who are certified and a discover Scuba for 14 year old and maybe some snorkeling as well for us with 9 year old. We would be looking for the easy 30-60 ft dive, not stingray city. Possibly in the North Sound area if there are any good easy dives there, otherwise some easy dive.

Gotta find a new pie spot since Blonde Giraffe is gone.:sad2:
And we have to get more Hog's Breath spice from The Hog's Breath Saloon. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
And a trip to Margaritaville! :rolleyes1

Key West- wandering on our own- Southernmost Point, key lime pie and whatever else we can find to get into

Grand Cayman- Island Tour with Stingray City through DCL- I am to chicken to do this on my own- last time we went we couldn't tender at the planned location and ended up tendering on the opposite end of the island- Disney did a phenomenal job of getting everyone where they needed to be.

Cozumel- Nachi

CC- DH and DS are going to parasail while DD and I watch safely from the ground (i have a huge fear of heights so no way I am going up there)

Key West: Jetski tour around the island at 2 pm and then Kermit's Key Lime Shoppe.

Grand Cayman: Dis excursion: Dolphin Extreme Swim and Turtle Farm

Cozumel: Mr. Sanchos (although I am super nervous about 4 other huge ships being in port with us (including the Fantasy!!!) that it will be crowded) May switch to Nachi if there is still room or just do a Fury Catamaran thing.
