Just found out that 6 of us may be heading to the World on Thanksgiving week. Yay!!! For the opportunity! Yikes!!! For the planner in me. We don't need ADR's really as we will probably go more bargain on this trip and eat QS. But I would like a nice turkey dinner on Thanksgiving (which is where the yikes comes in!).

Looking at MDE, here is what is available right now:

  • 12:45 Grand Floridian Cafe
  • 2:40 The Wave
  • 1:15 Tony's Town Square
  • 2:35 Rose and Crown
  • 4:25 Boatwright's
There are some ADRs after 7:30, but we don't like to eat that late.

Which would you rather try for Thanksgiving?

Looking at last year's menu everywhere had a turkey dinner except Tony's so I don't know if they will offer one this year. We have not eaten at any of these restaurants before except R&C which we loved. I'm just not sure if we want to be at EP that day but we could always park hop.

TIA for any insight and opinions!

We have eaten at the Wave twice and had fabulous food each time.

My hunch is that a traditional Thanksgiving meal at WDW is just going to be a disappointment. I think a better bet would be to order off the regular menu and have the full-on turkey feast when you get home. We've had some very nice meals at GFC, from your list that's the one I'd pick unless I planned to be in Epcot, in which case I'd go for R&C.

You might try and call. When they released the Thanksgiving day reservations, they were VERY wonky. Almost no availability....anywhere. I called and got a everything at the exact times I wanted. They may have fixed this but it's worth a try

We'd choose Boatwright's, but we'd never order turkey on vacation, Thanksgiving or not.

We have had T'giving dinner at Liberty Tree and Olivia's, cooked a couple of times in our DVC villa. Now we have a Big Breakfast in our villa and celebrate T'giving at home later. Maybe grab a turkey leg. Disney adds surcharge to all meals that day. TIW is blacked out. We just didn't think the dinners justified the cost, they weren't that good. The important part was to be together.

We planned a last minute trip to WDW over Thanksgiving last year, arriving on the holiday, and managed to snag a dinner reservation at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Our son was 1 so we wanted to eat somewhere that wasn't super quiet so we didn't have to worry about him disturbing others eating and also had multiple food choices. We weren't disappointed! There was turkey, brisket, and ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, a salad, pumpkin pie and probably other things I'm forgetting. We loved it!
