Thanksgiving... What Do You Do After Dinner?

Clean Up
Play Board Games
Watch Movies
By this time, dh and ds are raiding the fridge for leftovers :tiptoe:

All of the grandkids will probably just play...the adults stand around and drink cocktails while they play pool/billiards or darts.... maybe a Christmas movie that evening?

Lapse into a food coma while we sit around and talk!

Most people I know take a nap.. LOL..:goodvibes

can't really feel sorry for you....I work for a commuter railway and had to work my first 11 Thanksgivings, Christmas's and New Years Eves and Days on the job....when you take a job in retail or public transportation you know what you are getting yourself in for!
We go bowling or roller skating in the morning too on Thanksgiving-so those people are working too!

I can't bring up any sympathy either. My son will be on an oil rig for Thanksgiving and Christmas and unless he changes crews or the company changes policies about alternating years, it will be a long, long time before he is home for either holiday. When you take some jobs, you should know ahead that these are the downfalls.

As for the question, we will clean and visit with the family, watch a movie then come home and get ready for shopping on Friday!

Well, since you feel it necessary to go shopping on a big holiday like Thanksgiving, I don't do anything after dinner because I am all by myself. My wife is forced to work because it's all about the buck and the few people who will show up in the stores on a holiday instead of my wife being able to be at home with her family.
Wow.

:thumbsup2 I am a flight attendant, and I worked my way up the ladder to have thanksgiving off... mrogers, someday, your wife will too.

Lots of people have to work on Thanksgiving as well as other holidays. Firefighters, doctors, nurses, police..etc

I do not go out to any businesses on Thanksgiving day because I do not support working on holidays. I've had to do it many times in the past and it stinks. :(

Are we the only ones who put up the Christmas tree after T-giving dinner?? :cool1:

It is sad that some have to work on the holidays. I remember when db's wife was a nursing assistant, she always worked on the holidays because she was paid more. I always felt so sorry for her kids. The got up to see what Santa brought at something like 4 am and then were shuttled off to family (db worked on a barge and wasn't home either)

But, for a lot of types of jobs it is necessary. How bad would it be if firefighters didn't work on holidays? Or EMT's? DS's job isn't as necessary as all that , but they can't just shut the rig down either.

We have put the tree up on Thanksgiving but its going to be dh's first day off in about 3 and 1/2 weeks so I doubt I will be able to talk him into it. We will probably decorate on Saturday.

We are planning to eat around noon after my brother gets out of the woods (deer hunting).

After dinner we will watch the PACKERS play Detroit. :thumbsup2

Happy Thanksgiving!

Don't you mean... watch the Packers BEAT Detroit??? ;)

This year, I'll be watching the Texas-Texas A&m game Thanksgiving night. I'll have to watch the lighting of the tree at Lenox, too.

I go to bed around 7 p.m.-I have to get up at 1:30 a.m. to get ready for work :(. I hate Black Friday:sad2:

We always watch the Cowboys game after we eat. Which means this year, we'll be watching them beat the Raiders. :thumbsup2

DD & SIL are hosting this year for about 25ish :goodvibes. The yummy feast will be followed by everyone moaning they shouldn't have eaten so much!! :lmao:

The fun afternoon and evening will be followed by all sorts of tasty desserts, cousins having a great time together, adults chit chatting, games played, football watched, and some of the men will shoot pool :). Later that pm we'll get the turkey/ham back out and make sandwiches :rotfl2:! About 10pm we all be talked and played out and head home to a good nights sleep! We have out of state family staying over, so it will be lots of hustle bustle and week-end of get togethers! :goodvibes

Since we have no family close by it is just me and my boyfriend. We usually eat a small meal for thansgiving and then we usually go to the movies
