I'm a new member. I own at boardwalk. Just checked availability for thanksgiving and it's practically booked already? What is availability like 7 months out. I knew I had to book early but I thought I was early enough? Wow. What now? What sorts are likely to have availability?

Hmm... SSR or OKW may be your best shot at possibly finding something. :(

In the future, if you're planning to book for Holidays, I would really try to book as soon as your 11 month window opens. They are very busy times.

Good luck, I hope it all works out!

Buy where you love to stay is my motto. Yes you may get lucky but who wants to spend big bucks to take a chance?

The larger, less popular resorts like SSR usually has some availability and/or if you are looking for a short stay and you are flexible on your dates, you can usually find something.

Get yourself on a waitlist now. And keep an eye on the website to see if something comes open.

I like my home resort-boardwalk but it's not fully available. I guess I would stay at any resort. Although I like being close to the parks.

If you are willing to risk a split stay, book some at BWV and wait list the rest, if you can do it within your limit of 2 wait lists....hopefully either your first few days or last few days are available.pixiedust:

Won't the op have to wait until April to book ssr for that weekend since it's not their home resort? I'd say book whatever dates you can at boardwalk and waitlist the rest.

Exactly.

As others have said, get on a WL now!!! There will be people switching at the 7 month mark. If you WL now, you'll only be competing with other owners, not everyone else.

And yes, Thanksgiving booked up fast. We changed our plans from 1st week of Dec back to Thanksgiving week. It was 2 weeks after the 11 month mark. Standard view and Boardwalk views were already gone for certain nights :(

Good luck!

BWV Standard View Studios book right at 11 months. Boardwalk View Studios usually are gone soon after.

The Pool/Garden View were available a few weeks ago but now I see even that's gone for Thanksgiving night.

The only BWV availability for the entire week is a 1BR Pool/Garden View.

BWV is a great location and I've always found Thanksgiving to be one of the most difficult weeks to book.

As was stated earlier, Waitlist it now. AND, check online to see if input if available as often as you can, especially around the 7 month window. Waitlist do not fill automatically and so your dates could become available and snapped up by someone else before your Waitlist is filled. I have seen this happen to me and have read many other cases as well. So some persistence is helpful.
