Thanksgiving Week 2007 @ The Fort

OK, time to wrap this report up before it is next Thanksgiving.

Three more photos, and then I am off to plan my next trip (looking at January dates!).

Here is a photo of the pet walk area as accessed via the 700 loop. This path travels behind the 800 and 900 loops, and connects with the pedestrian bridge that goes to Creekside Meadows (the group camping area). It is a very nice path. There is a lot of space behind the 800 and 900 sites that border this path. If you are in the 800 or 900 loops, the group camping area, or even the 2000 loop, this path provides a pleasant alternative route to walk to the Settlement area.

Here are a couple of photos of the armadillo that we rescued from the trash can. The thing looks pretty creepy in there. I know that there must be a good punchline for these photos, but I have not come up with anything:

So that is it for this trip report. Don't worry, it won't be long until the next one!

Andrew, on your next trip, you should bring your metal detector(I know you still have one.) and search for rail spikes left from the old track. That would be a great find!

Reading ths report has me wanting to head out camping here in East Texas. The Miller Family has not been on a camp trip in two years. A fact that is brought up to me on every cool dry weekend of the Fall by Erin Miller.:rolleyes1

found 2 spikes while we were there over thanksgiving. funny thing is i didnt find them where they clearded, found them walking down the foot path going from the meadow towards the playground area.(forgot loop number/name sry)
