That's an easy question. To bring a DH, you need to buy him a ticket.
I wish I could find a blow up Albert. I've looked hard and long, but no luck.
And nice to see they have broomsticks for beating dh. I couldn't figure out how to bring one.
On our last few visits, we have seen quite a few wild turkeys around the Fort.
For some reason, all of Thanksgiving week, they were scarce.
Then, on Saturday afternoon, this group came strolling through the 800 loop:

So, why are there now so many Turkeys at the Fort?
Look at this:

Those of you familiar with the Fort will recognize that this van is parked in front of the FW kennels. So what is the National Turkey Federation doing with its logo on a WDW van? Is this where the turkey legs served at the parks come from? Is there a National Peacock Federation? What is this van doing here?
BTW, as you might have guessed, I did look in the van. It was empty. No cages, no turkey food, none of those head-removing arrows that we have seen on another thread. But, clearly the turkeys are getting special treatment.

Whoa...it takes balls to ride around with those dragging behind ya!!One of the DD's also snapped this photo.
Not sure if you can make it out, but there the golf cart has some special metal accessories hanging low:

I'm thinking that maybe this cart belongs to one of the classy DisBoard members?

So, when in the Fort, I am always looking for something new and different. Or, some behind the scenes info. In case you didn't notice, I take a lot of photos.
This past week, while I was setting up the old campsite, the DD's took a cruise on the golf cart (no flames-oldest DD is 16 and an authorized golf cart driver).
DD 12 comes back to tell me she took a photo for me.
She said a bunch of knuckleheads had parked in the golf cart parking spaces at the Meadows trading post.
Sure enough:

What is up with that?![]()

Well, at first I was going to cut these folks some slack, because I thought maybe they were European, or maybe Canadian. But, notice the Virginia Tech logo on their bean bag target. So, maybe this is how they roll in Virginia? Trust me, I saw worse fashion violations than this at the Fort!
TCD
Just what are you implying about VT? Now you're getting personal!Just because Hokies want to put orange and maroon together doesn't mean they don't have fashion sense!
Please, take no offense, as I did not mean to offend.
I am just observing the clear cultural differences which exist between those who hail from the Commonwealth of Virginia (what is a commonwealth?) and the clearly more sophisticated residents of Florida. The camera does not lie! Those Virginia gentlemen have obviously been working out, and want to show off their superior physiques (by VA. standards). The Florida gentleman keeps his hot bod covered, for the reasons he already stated.
The facts are the facts. Let's just accept them and move on.
I love the diversity of the Fort. We all come from such different backgrounds, yet we all have so much in common.![]()
Oh, and since you brought it up, what exactly is a Hokie?
TCD
if you weigh less than 200lbs, halter tops are fine, lol. Next time, I will toss beanbags showing my buff physique off.
This is a picture of the other, less famous, person born on July 30th, you've already seen me!

No offense taken. However, around my neck of the woods, those are fighten' words! I must admit, living in VA does wonders for my self esteem. By VA standards, I am a total babe! Watch out, you may find me at the fort tossing frisbes in a halter and daisy dukes![]()
I grew up in Annapolis, but have had the honor of living in several places, Hokie Nation included.
What is a Hokie? The origin of the word "Hokie" has nothing to do with a turkey (VT mascot). It was coined by O. M. Stull (class of 1896), who used it in a spirit yell he wrote for a competition. What I still want to know is, is the VT holding cell called the Hokie Pokie?
In the terminology of the United States insular areas, a Commonwealth is an organized territory or colony that has established with the Federal Government a more highly developed relationship, usually embodied in a written mutual agreement~so there you go. The only states to have this honor are Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Kentucky.
That was your history lesson for the day![]()
