I am on the final countdown for our trip. what is the weather usually like over Thanksgiving? I live in TN and it has still be warm here at times but hoping the humidity at least will be gone in Orlando ... what do I need to pack ?? TIA

Florida weather can be really unpredictable. We are having a bit of a cold spell right now, but every day it's been getting a little warmer. I would check the weather as close to leaving as possible for your trip to get a good idea of what it'll be. It could be in the high 70s/low 80s or there could be a cold front and be in the 40s. I once was surprised with a freak cold front and it was in the 30s and all I had were flipflops and t-shirts, was not prepared. If you check like a day before you leave it'll give you a pretty good idea and you can plan around that. I'd still bring a little warmer or cooler clothes just encase the weather changes when you're there so you aren't stuck.

When I look 10 days forecast it is looking like mid 70s .... that is pretty close to right when we leave... I will continue to check. its pretty similar to here usually I guess. I was thinking we should be okay with pants and tee shirts and maybe light jackets for morning/evening.... didn't really think we would need shorts.. but maybe

I would bring layers. Usually, the weather will be highs in the mid-high 70s with lows in the low 60s. I have been over Thanksgiving in 2014 when there was a cold front that went through and the highs didn't out of the 50s for a few days with rain and last year it was highs in the high 70s to low 80s and lows at night in the 60s. Usually, I bring a light jacket and sweater for the evenings. The humidity will be much lower than the summer, but the nights will feel colder since you are by a lot of water. A typical day would be a shirt and shorts during the day and shifting to a light jacket or sweater with jeans for the evening. The main thing to remember is to bring layers depending on the weather.

When we went for Thanksgiving (a few years ago), it was cooler than we had expected. I ended up buying a jacket and a pair of gloves the second night we were there because I was cold. Definitely plan for layers.

You can see the extended forecast now. We will be there the same week and plan on shorts, but are bringing light jackets and jeans just in case.

We plan on having a pool day 11/20.

www.weather.com Enter Walt Disney World for the location then click on Month to find the average high/low. Keep in mind that reports about what happened last year, two years ago, etc are totally irrelevant to what may happen this year.

Orlando weather is just like TN weather.
It can be anything from 80 to 50
Totally and completely unpredictable and if you don't like what it is today, stick around 24 hours, it will probably change, provided it's not summer when it's hot.

I think FL weather will be similar to much of TN. If TN weather is variable, so is FL, though FL doesn't have TN's mountains.

You might get a week of warm, you might get a week of cold, you'll probably get a mix.

The one little tidbit I'd add is that FL tends to cool down after dark. We often prefer to add layers after it gets dark in FL during the cooler months. I've seen it rather chilly in November.

Also, don't expect the long term forecast to be correct. Don't expect every day will be ideal swimming weather. If you get a day that's weather nice, carpe diem is a wise approach.

The humidity has dropped significantly from September into October, and continues to go down. So even if it's in the 80's it won't feel like you're slogging through water walking around. I usually go to WDW the first week in December (so close to Thanksgiving) and I usually pack capri length pants (warmer than shorts if it's cool and cooler than jeans if it's hot), short sleeve shirts, and a couple different weight jackets (one lightweight, one medium weight) and that generally works well. We don't usually get the super cold weather until January and February, although we have had the occasional cold snap in December (2010 anyone?).

We're here now, and have been to Disney this week in early November several times over the last few years. This week, it's been mid 80s with high humidity, but a couple years ago, the same week highs were in the 60s much of the time and we wore sweatshirts often. Definitely check just before you leave and be prepared to make last minute adjustments to your packing list!
