Just wondering if anyone has come up with ideas on how too seat people for a Thanksgiving meal in a two bedroom? We will be having 2 two bedrooms which is 13 people and would like to have the meal together. I called the front desk to ask about a table from the banquet facilities and they said they only had huge ones that wouldn't work in the room. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I'm curious as well. We're looking into 2004, my sister's family staying at their Marriott timeshare and us at OKW. We would be 10 - 12 depending on if my parents go as well. I figured you could get 6 at the table in the main dining area - did it this past week, possibly bring in the table from the balcony for another 4, or leave the door open to the balcony.

Now, I wouldn't even try to attemp it at any of the other resorts. I can just seat the six of us for a regular meal at BWV.

We sat 21 in an OKW 2 br for a Christmas meal a few years ago. We were very creative to set a table for that many so 13 should not be a problem at all. You can seat 4 at the main table, 4 outside on the patio or bring the outside table in, and then set 5 on the coffee table. On the coffee table seating, 3 can sit on the sofas, scoot up the ottoman for a 4th and then you can either bring one of the chairs in from the bedrooms or have 1 on a pillow on the floor. When we sat 21, we had folding tables from my parent's RV and we just opened the patio doors and used the patio as an extension to the dining room. It was so cozy! We even had a Christmas tree and exchanged gifts with our large family. One of our best holiday memories ever!

You can make it work at OKW but I don't think you can at any of the other 2 BR units. Even then you're looking at using the island, tables from the Balcony and the like. You should be able to rent a table and extra chairs form some company but I doubt it is worth the hassle.

Easy... you call up disney dining and say "I'd like to make a priority seating for 13" :jester:

That's what I would do anyway.

I'm with Lisa on this one and the best place for Thanksgiving dinner is the Whispering Canyon (great if you are at the VWL).

Family style and very enjoyable interactive wait staff.

And large enough tables.....

That would be great but my nephew is autistic and can't wait in line especially at a resturaunt on a holiday in Disney. this would be bad for him and all near him.

Is it possible to go to a restaurant in your resort? this way your nephew could hang out back in the room until some of your party is seated and you could give a call up from a house phone and have them join you. You could also contact the restaurant and let them know in advance that you have a child with special needs joining you for dinner. Actually, because of the huge holiday crowds, restaurants seem to move people through even faster on holidays than normally... I think having a more limited menu helps as well. I hope that helps a little!

I'm with Lisa!!!

We stayed at the BCV last thanksgiving and had dinner at Cape May. It was great!!! We had an early reservation so we did not wait long. The food was good and the best part was that none of us had to cook or clean up! YEH! After dinner we biked around the BW and burned off a few calories.

If anyone in your group is driving down and has the room in their vehicle, how about a card table?

Curious to know if you are cooking your meal or ordering from Publix?

At OKW, I would put 5 at the main table, four at the patio table outside (or bring it and the chairs inside, there's plenty of room in the living room at OKW). Put three on the coffee table (two on sofa, one at the end sitting on loveseat), and one sitting in the chair with their plate on the ottoman. Not all together, I know, but doable. We did the Publix dinner, with a few things added one year at Thanksgiving at OKW and it was great! To me, much easier than braving the crowds.
