I am super stressed out. I have a reservation for five people at 12:40 and a reservation for four people at 3:30 Thanksgiving at storytellers. We have five people. Normally. I know it's not an issue just to add somebody at these restaurants, but it being Thanksgiving I don't think it's going to work. Our flight gets in at 10:20. If there are any delays, we are going to miss our our 12:40 reservation. I need to cancel one of them very very soon. Which one would you cancel? Does the modification work for the 72-hour rule for these special meals? I just don't want to be charged the full price for five people on a cancellation.

Maybe both?
If I were you I'd definitely cancel the 4 person one because on a good day, you'd be setting yourself up for at best a long wait to add in a 5th. But on a busy Thanksgiving Day at a hard to get restaurant, they could turn you away. Unless one of you wants to eat by themselves if you're told no, I'd just cancel it. Not worth the stress.
As for the earlier one, I can't really say. Flights are on time more than they aren't, so I guess you have to decide how comfortable you are with that risk.

Never had an issue with changing party numbers, its not like they actually hold a table for you. In the future you can cancel same day by just revising the date on the reservation to a later date, then canceling it

Does this also work for reservations that have the 72 hour rule? It said I had to cancel 72 hours in advance or I would be charged full price for the reservations. I confirmed on the chat this afternoon that is the case. I asked about just modifying it and they couldn't answer if that would work.

Never heard of that, I guess because of the holiday? I do know storytellers follows different rules. They do not always follow the 60 day rule, I have not yet figured out what they do.
