We (DH, myself, and 2 kids who will then be 9 and just turned 7), are doing a 10 night stay spanning from before Thanksgiving to just past Thanksgiving. We were booked for SSR standard because we were meeting up with extended family and that’s where they wanted to stay. However, they told me two hours ago that they changed their minds and are only going to join us for 4 nights. They’ve also changed their resort and are going to stay at CB. We offered to cover their room at SSR by switching to a lock-off but their friends just returned from CB and raved about staying there. I already explained to them that we would not be able to make CB work and we now plan to just go to some parks together.
I just switched our stay from SSR 1 bedroom standard to BWV 1 bedroom P/G for the ease of access to Epcot and DHS. We always rent a car so transportation isn’t an issue. However, I thought that, with Thanksgiving crowds, it might be nice to be able to walk to a park instead of drive (especially since I anticipate that we will at least bring along the umbrella stroller a few times for DD2). DH was on board with that but is now worried about the pool feeling like people soup and wants to switch back to SSR because he thinks the Paddock and Springs pools will be less crowded there. However, he refused to do a split stay so we can’t switch resorts partway through the trip.
Which of these would you pick to strike a balance of ease of park time and ease of pool use and access?
