We are planning a family reunion for my sister's 40th birthday. There will be 22 of us. We originally were planning on going the 2nd week of March which was one of the family's spring break. The other 3 families were pulling the kids out of school. It is going to be difficult however to go during school though since 2 of the folks are teachers. So now we are thinking about going Thanksgiving. Realistically how crowded will it be. We are thinking of Universal, Sat, Sun, Mon before Thanksgiving and Disney Tues-Tues with a night at MVMCP on Monday night. How long do you think the wait will be for the rides without a fast pass? Did anyone go at Thanksgiving last year? How was it? It looks like lots of room availability. Alot more availability for the week of Thanksgiving than any week in December. Help-This is the deciding factor on when we go so it is important.

We went from Friday before Thanksgiving to the Friday after last year and it was great! The crowds were small, the weather was great, and we got to enjoy the decorations and "snow" and hot chocolate at MGM. We returned in March for Spring Break. There were definitely more people there! On another thread someone mentioned it might have been because Easter was earlier!?!

Thanksgiving over Spring Break hands down! Thanksgiving falls during non-peak season and I've read many trip reports that say the parks were virtually empty (except, of course, on weekends which is the same no matter what time of year). Besides, Thanksgiving comes before Spring Break so you'll get there sooner!

Our Spring Break is the 2nd week in March, so we have been then and at Thanksgiving several times. We vote for Thanksgiving! However, you need to realize that many folks only have Wed-Fri off work/school, so it's much more crowded Thursday-Sat than it is earlier in the week. We've always had to leave on Sat. or Sun. morning after Thanksgiving, so we don't know how it is on Sunday or Monday, but the crowds should be much lighter by then.

Have fun!

Hi! hopefully I can be of some help. We are going for our first Thanksgiving trip this year. It is my son's b-day , so we invited the grandparents along. We have three rooms at the WL. When I called last week for my MIL, they still seemed to have plenty of rooms.
We've done a lot of research for this trip. We are avoiding MK Thurs-Sat, so we will do Mk on Wed (the day we arrive) and MK on Sun for EMH. Also, on that sunday (nov 30) is the first MVMCP. We all have tickets for that. On Thanksgiving we will be at Epcot.
