We are frequent visitors to WDW, but this November will be our first Thanksgiving visit. Can anyone make a recommendation on how to spend the day. Are the parks crowded? What restaurants are the best for a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner (Liberty Tree Tavern is alreayd sold out for that day)?

Thanks for the input!!

Thanksgiving day is pretty busy at the parks as is the whole weekend. But as long as you are staying on property it should not be a problem. Go early and then take a midday break, then return for dinner or afterwards.
As for dinner pretty much all the restaurants serve the traditional Thanks. meal, with the exception of the WS restaurants.
Do make a PS now and they will ask for CC to guarantee it.
Suggestions:
Concourse St, Artist Pt, Whispering Canyon, Narcoosees, Yachtsmans St, Cape May, Trails End, Brown Derby, PT Cafe or Mama Melrose

We went to WDW last Thanksgiving and it was a great time to go. The Christmas decorations start to go up and the Special holiday shows/programs start!!! I would recommend going to Epcot on Thanksgiving day. We walked in at 5 pm and there wasnt a soul in line for Spaceship Earth!! I think Epcot is so much bigger with wider walkways that it never seems to be as crowded as the other parks. We ate at garden grill for dinner, and it was ok. Im not big on family style dinners. Just one thing.. get an EARLIER reservation. We made one for the last seating of the day since we were getting to the park later. When we checked in at 10 minutes before our dinner time, we were given a beeper ( along with about 50 other people) and told that it was over a 90 minute wait!!! Seems they were letting walk ins get seated, and then they were over booked. It was awful. We didnt eat much on purpose so we were ready for a big meal.. the kids were tired, hungy and bored. There were no counter services open since that part of Epcot closes at 6. It might be a good idea to hang out at the pool for most of the morning, have a late lunch ( I heard the restaurant at Wilderness Lodge is good!!) and head over to Epcot around 4. The good thing about Epcot is that you can walk through the countries, get a drink and listen to The british invasion.. let the kids make a mask... there is lots to do in Epcot that doesnt require waiting in a line. it was a great time to go. In fact. we are going back over thanksgiving next year!!

BTW... anyone else going to be at the "Crystal Palace" for their Thanksgiving meal?? This is sort of a tradition for us.

Last year we were there for Thanksgiving, we booked an early dinner, then spent the late afternoon and early evening going to different resorts and looking at all their Christmas Decorations, it made the day feel really festive.:D

meiandrew- YEP- we'll be at Crystal Palace at 4:00pm for Thanksgiving dinner! My whole family will be there- 15 people! I thought we were the only ones who MUST eat at Crystal Palace for turkey day! It has become our tradition too!!
See you there!:)

We will be there for Thanksgiving. We are going to AK in the morning and then we have a PS for Whispering Canyon Cafe at 12:50. They are having a traditional Thanksgiving buffet. I have heard it is very good. We will probably nap and hang out in the afternoon. We may go to MK later since it doesn't close until 11pm. However, if it is really, really crowded then we will probably just hop over to Epcot.

My family's booked at the California Grill on Thanksgiving at 3:30 p.m.
