Hi all! Has anybody ever had Thanksgiving dinner delivered to the resort? Maybe a restaurant or market? I know Whole foods does it up here, but I need something for Disney... Any ideas or suggestions? I do not want to cook the dinner (thats half the point of vacation over the holiday, no entertaining:thumbsup2 ) Thanks! Leigh

Last year in Orlando we ordered our dinner from Publix and it worked out great! We had to pick it up the day before, then reheated everything for Thanksgiving day. Helpful hint: pick up one of the large foil pans to hold the turkey in (and hold the leftovers) along with a box of foil to cover the dishes. Everything is precooked (including the turkey), you just have to heat it up.

Another option we looked into: Boston Chicken. You can order from them on line. We had to call Publix and place our order, but the prices were great. The regular meal was something like $30-40 dollars (feeds 8 at least) with add-ons like pumpkin pie available.

We really enjoyed out T-Day last year. Went to a park for a couple of hours in the morning, then back to the resort to heat the meal up and eat. We loved it so much we're going back again this year (although this year we'll have a new baby so I made ressies at LTT instead). HTH! :)

You might consider eating at a Disney Restaurant. It can be costly, but they offer special Thanksgiving and Christmas menus.

We ordered Christmas dinner from Goodings one year. We had to pick it up a few days ahead of time and kept it in the refrigerator until Christmas morning. Those precooked turkeys are pretty good, but it takes a long time to heat them up all the way.

good luck if they decide to eat at a DISNEY Restaurant....i called last week and there was nothing left for a dinner reservation only a 2:30 pm at Spoodles and a 9:45......every other Restaurant was booked for Thanksgiving dinner....i have O'hana's which i got at 180 days out, but i wanted to switch to Liberty Tree or Chef Mickey's.........good luck to anyone needing a reservation......

I just called yesterday and there were plenty of reservations at restaurants that are serving traditional Thanksgiving fare. There are a lot of restaurants on the list, so be sure to check all of them. The big ones like LTT are booked, but there are still other options.
Rose and Crown had a lot of availability as did the first two seatings at Fort Wilderness- they are having a Thanksgiving meal with entertainment.

Thanks, i will have to call again! when i called they really told me there were only the ones i mentioned left! It took her a long time to check everything and she said that was the only ones left that served a traditional thanksgiving meal.
thanks again,

We do the Publix or Goodings thing. Call them ahead of Turkey Day and make an order. They will have everything cooked and ready for pick up. Don't know if they deliver. They will also get all of the accompaniments and condiments for your order. It has always been a very easy process. If you're driving pack a carving knife?

We had a good sized knife in the villa.

I just made our Thanksgiving dinner reservations for all 6 of us last night, and we are doing Teppanyaki at noon and traditional in the evening at Olivia's.

Thanks for all the ideas. I knew we wouldn't be eating in a restaurant (although I love to), my son just dosen't like to sit....I will most likely do the pick up at the local market. Thanks!:)

We've done the Publix T'giving dinner several times, If your family doesn't like whole cranberry sauce pack your own. They also have side dishes you can order. The sweet potato casserole and the green beans were great. We order extra pies and buy ice cream when we pick the meal up. I bring T'giving napkins, candles and a fold up paper centerpiece to make it more festive.
Enjoy!
