I wondered if anyone could suggest somwhere to have Thanksgiving dinner? It will be the one time on our holiday where we're willing to splash out a little on food.
I'm guessing it's something that needs to be booked in advance like at Christmas here (England).
I thought as we were there during an important holiday it would be nice to do something special to mark it.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Zoe

The nicest place that comes to mind is The Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom, really a great place and the setting is perfect for Thanksgiving. They fill up reservations probably faster than most restaurants at WDW for Thanksgiving. The dinner here is usually a character meal but not sure that applys on Thanksgiving day. I would call and find out if you are interested. The 2001 Thanksgiving menus are at Deb Will's site: http://wdwig.com/men_thks01.htm

Hi RobinLyn,
Thanks for the suggestion it sounds really nice, I shoyld have said though, I won't have any Disney tickets so it will need to be somewhere else.
Any ideas?
Thanks again,
Zoe

I would try Emeril's in Citywalk. I would like to taste what he makes for Turkey Day. I would start calling and see if you can make reservations now. Call them at 407-224-2424.

kristenjet,

You don't need a park ticket to eat at one of the WDW Resorts, there are so many nice places at the Resorts to choose from but they will be expensive. Use the above link to see some resort meal prices at Deb's web site from Thanksgiving 2001.

Orlando, Florida : What are the best restaurants in the Orlando area? (from USA today.com)
1.) La Coquina (Voted #1 Food in Orlando)
2.) Louis’ Downtown (29 for Food)
3.) Victoria and Alberts (28 for Food) Located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Many people recommend Pebbles Restaurant, 17 West Church Street, Orlando. I have not had the pleasure of eating here though. There are some reviews here: http://orlando.citysearch.com/profile/2376654/

My first choice is Liberty Tree Tavern for Thanksgiving, but I would also eat at Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge), California Grill (Contemporary Resort, top floor of the tower!) and Yachtmans Steakhouse (Yacht Club Resort) for a holiday meal or any other meal without hesitation. I agree with Barry also, Emerils in CityWalk (Universal Studios) would be very nice but check and be sure you like the menu for that day.
