I had the bright idea to go to disney this year for Thanksgiving to escape the cooking (and relatives) We are staying at OKW, and have lunch ressies at Biergarten, I know it won't be traditional thanksgiving, but it is relatively inexpensive and one of our favorites. Heres the dilemma- now my extended family asked if they could come to disney and have thanksgiving with us there!!! They don't have park passes, so biergarten is out. My dad is a big eater and likes to get a lot of bang for his buck, he is also, unfortunately, very quick to complain in a restaurant in a way that can put a damper on everyone elses meal. Can anyone suggest an alternative dining plan for a larger group with a hard to please member, or should I just stick with our original plan and tell them its too late to change. Thanks for your help!

I would get on the phone as soon as possible, and check to see where you can even get reservations at this point. A lot of the sit down restaurants have been sold out for over a month. It may be more a question of whether or not you can get a reservation, instead of finding a place that dad deems acceptable. Maybe you could try one of the places on 192 - Does he have a favorite chain restaurant? Good luck!

this is just my opinion, even though you have a hard to please member of your party, don't tell them it's too late. You never know how much time you'll have together, good or bad. Spend even the bad with them and try to overlook his complaining.

Call WDW right away and see what they have. You may not be able to get something on site at this point, but you may get some off site. Did you get an Orlando guide at all, or go online and see what restaurants are around WDW area?
Good Luck!

Hey ez....are you sure you're not talking about my f-i-l??? Sounds just like him!!!

Once when we were down visiting him he took us to his favorite buffet right as lunch was ending. Then we sat at our table and waited until they started bringing out the dinner items, then went and ate dinner at the lunch price. He's amazing....all the "deals" he gets!!!

Good luck with your plans!!

If you are not able to get a PS and are staying in a 1 or 2 bedroom at OKW, how about just ordering everything from Publix and having a feast in the room? Since you are from Ormond Beach, I'm sure you already know everything is cooked for you, you just heat it up and you're done. Thanksgiving and Christmas have been a breeze for me the last 3 years thanks to Publix.

I second susanews' suggestion. If that doesn't interest you, though, leave your PS alone until you finalize something else for the whole group. Get on the phone and see what, if anything, is available.

Sounds like our family. We too are going to WDW to get AWAY from both of our families.

All they do is fight, this one does not like that one, this one is jealous of that one....WHO CARES?

My suggestion ....go with your original plan. Enjoy yourself.
Tell them it TOO LATE.

So what will make you most happy. If you are trying to take into consideration the need for Park entrance another option is one of the Resort's restaurants that do not require entering a park. This year we have reservations at Artist Pointe in the Wilderness Lodge. (Unfortunately many places are already booked)
This is the first time we have invited the relatives to join us. I hope we do not regret it. Last year, we just said "No" when they asked if they would be welcome to join us. Wish us luck.
