Thanksgiving Day

My family and I are planning on taking a trip to Disney World Thanksgiving week. Our party consists of my husband and I, my mother and father, mother and father in law, and our two girls, ages 2 and 5. I made our reservations this morning for our top choices. The only one restaurant we did not get into was Coral Reef. The restaurants we made reservations for are as follows:

Saturday (day we get there and we are just going to do a counter service)
Sunday - Chef Mickey's (Breakfast)
Monday - 'Ohana (Dinner)
Tuesday - Hoopdy Doo Review (Dinner)
Wednesday - Cinderella's Royal Table (Dinner)
Thursday -
Friday - Be Our Guest (Dinner)

Any suggestions for Thanksgiving Day? This is the only day we don't have anything reserved. The restaurants we are thinking about are:

Boma
Sanaa
Biergarten
Cape May
1900 Park Fare
Tusker House

What do you think? We are eating at Cinderella's Royal Table the day before Thanksgiving, so I don't think it would be wise to eat at 1900 Park Fare, but it does look fun. Would it be too much, though? Do you think we should just wait to see if there is an opening at Coral Reef?

We made our reservations for Thanksgiving week this morning as well. We were able to get everything we wanted (except CA Grill, which isn't taking reservations yet), which was nice.

We have done Thanksgiving a few times and always change where we try dinner. The food at Boma was fantastic. They offered their traditional buffet along with all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings. Our one main issue with having Thanksgiving dinner there was that we spent more time in line waiting for food than eating together. At times, the lines for the traditional foods were very long.

With such a large party, I would recommend a sit down location (like Coral Reef...your first choice). We happened to book Sanaa (also sit down) this year since we are staying at Kidani!

Finally, did you call the reservations line or just try to book online? I noticed many of the restaurants were not available for booking online for Thanksgiving dinner. This happened last year as well. Once we called, we found everything wide open!

We have done Cape May Café for Thanksgiving dinner twice and enjoyed it both times. The buffet has lots of traditional Thanksgiving offerings, as well as a nice selection of seafood. And the dessert buffet was amazing. We were a party of 15 the last time and everyone loved this meal.

As a matter of fact this morning I booked Cape May for Thanksgiving dinner for a party of 23! The whole Epcot resort area/Boardwalk is a great place to take an after dinner stroll to look at Christmas decorations. This is what we did the past two times we were in Disney for Thanksgiving and it makes for a great night! Good luck finding a place that works for you.

One year we ate Thanksgiving at Coral Reef. This year we are hoping for Chef Mickeys. If not, I have a few other resort restaurants in mind.

Thank you for the advice! I did book everything online this morning so I didn't think it would make a difference to actually call. However, I just got off the phone with Disney and was able to make reservations for the Coral Reef! Woohoo!

Just out of curiosity, have you been to Sanaa before? I was looking at that restaurant this morning and thought it looked interesting with the view of the animals.

We have gone to Teppan Edo the past couple of years and it is now our tradition.
We have eaten at Le Cellier's who offers an alternative menu for Thanksgiving now and Biergarten who offers traditional Thanksgiving fare on the buffet.

1900 Park Fare is fun and the buffet is good. We liked it more at dinner than at breakfast.

The Osborne Lights are incomparable! Epcot's decorations are nice, don't get me wrong (it's my favorite park), but OL's are incredible. In fact, I think I will just hang around them while the D's go on ST the night we are there.

Glad I read this message... when I booked our Thanksgiving meals this morning they didn't show that 50's Primetime Cafe had any availability. But I read above where you could call and so I did so and they found us a lunch reservation.

Thanks so much for the tip. My kids were a bit sad as we've had three turkey day meals at PTC and they wanted to go back this year. I'd reserved lunch at Hollywood and Vine and dinner at Chef Mickey's. Already cancelled Hollywood and Vine and may cancel CM too and find another place for dinner since we won't need two helpings of turkey.

My wife and I are actually going completely non traditional for our first Thanksgiving at Disney, which is also our first Thanksgiving we aren't spending with our families.

Anyways, on Thanksgiving we're going to Kona Cafe for breakfast, Tokyo Dining for lunch, and a late dinner at T-Rex. No Turkey for us.
