Thanksgiving Day Restaurant Information?

When in the past has Disneyland usually released dining information for Thanksgiving? I tried looking back in past threads to figure it out but wasn't too sure.

Since reservations open (well, should open but probably won't since all the dining is delayed....) this week for Thanksgiving day I'm getting a bit frustrated not having any information.

I'm not sure if I'm even interested in the typical Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving dinner option (those prices!) but it'd be nice to consider it... if we had the information. In the past it seems like most restaurants offered some additional Thanksgiving themed food though so that may be the better route. Anyone find the DLR hotel option worth the cost? Worth is subjective but did you enjoy it? I tried to find some reviews of it and didn't find much. Did see one YouTube video and it just reminded me of having dinner at a work conference because of the layout. 😬

I like the Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving. There are lots of people there, but there are lots of buffet stations so it’s not hard to get your food. There’s a band, nice decorations, and lots of character photo ops.

Yeah, it’s expensive, so all the criticisms you will hear do apply - sure you can have a just as good or better meal for cheaper elsewhere - but it’s a nice event that has a big special event feel. I’d recommend it.

Things should start popping up for many venues in the next couple weeks.

Hi, there. I know I'm late, but I'm looking for info for Thanksgiving 2021, also. To help answer some of your questions, my family has been going to the Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving Buffet on and off for more than 10 years. When we started it was about $75. In 2019 we paid $180 per adult... $900 for our family of five!

Is it "worth it"? I'd say it's a good $100 buffet, maybe $120 on a holiday. But we have (picky) family members who like it (and can afford it) so we're kind of stuck. For my three, I'd rather spend our $540 on a weekend in San Diego, but here we are.

The food is good, great selection, both traditional and other. I eat a lot of shrimp! My elderly mom eats about $20 worth of turkey and sides... and no senior discount. The atmosphere is fun, characters come out, live hillbilly-type band, cute decor. It's also crowded, loud, service is slow and inattentive, and we have waited as long as an hour past our reservation time to be seated.

All that said... in 2019 we made (and paid in full) our reservations on October 3. Today is the 2nd and I still can't find any info, nor can I get any info from Disneyland's non-existent customer service. So, who knows if they will have it, and what it will look like in the COIVD era. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it. Guessing we need to make other plans this year, we'll see.

Dining reservations are currently "open" for Thanksgiving weekend, but there is not a single reservation available for the entire holiday weekend, even at DTD, which seems odd. I will keep checking.

Hope this helps! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you that does help! I think we'll be happier at the Blue Bayou. Now if only they would open up reservations!

Storytellers Cafe in GCH also has a Thanksgiving buffet dinner, smaller and less expensive, also has characters. I can't tell you how it was though. We made reservations one year and when we showed up they said we would wait 3-4 hours to be seated even with a reservation. Apparently large groups of families were spending hours at their tables. We went to Ralph Brennan's in DTD without a wait and it was great. First time I ever had Turducken.

Wow, three to four hour wait *with* a reservation?! That's crazy.

We've encountered the same issues at Storytellers. The problem was Storytellers predicts a 90min-2 hour turn over, but people exceed that by hours and Storytellers doesn't do anything to speed it up (Goofy's will remind you you only have 90 mins.)
