We will be there the day before Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving day, and wondering which park we should do which day? I heard Thanksgiving Day morning was not crowded, so thinking doing CA on Wed, and DL on Thanksgiving Day. Anyone been there these 2 days, and what are your experiences with crowds etc.?

That's a reasonable take. There are blackouts for Annual Passes on Thu/Fri/Sat.

Not all APs are blacked out. The premium APs have no blackout dates. Though I am not sure what percentage of AP holders are premium holders.

I'm not sure who told you Thanksgiving isn't crowded. It is. It shouldn't be nearly as bad as Christmas and probably will be less crowded than Wed, but it will still be crowded.

I read posts on this site saying Thanksgiving MORNING isn't crowded, but picks up during the day. I'm assuming DL is more crowded in general compared to CA, so I am trying to figure out which day for which park would be best. And some of the Annual Passes are blacked out for Thanksgiving Day, however NONE are blacked out the day before.

How crowded is Wednesday through Sunday for those who go over thanksgiving?
Do parks reach capacity?
I have been during the summer is it worse?

Wednesday is worse than Thursday in Disneyland. You have folks coming in to visit family so they attend on Wednesday, visit family on Thursday. Wednesday nights are the great for watching drunk folks and angry folks and rowdy sibling groups. Thursday morning has been great E-attractions till noon, and then past noon, we head off to shows and never had any problem at Aladdian, Tiki room, Crush, Muppets, AA and street shows. We are just exhausted on day five so sitting is great and removes us from the attractions crowds. It is not hot so summer "crowded feeling" is less noticable.

This year will make Thanksgiving #4 in the parks for us. I would definitely do DCA on Wed and DL on Thurs. The week is crowded and this year probably worse than normal with the 60th anniversary nightly entertainment and well as the Feel the Force (is that the name of the Star Wars stuff?) opening. It is manageable though. Start early and take midafternoon breaks!

I have actually found Thanksgiving day to be nice in the parks. I wouldn't say it's not crowded, but it is much lighter than the days surrounding it, so it feels that way. I remember walking out of Blue Bayou at lunch time 2 years ago and NOS being almost a ghost town. It was wonderful and strange all at the same time.

Thanks for the report on Wednesday and Thursday how about Saturday and Sunday does it clear out on Sunday?

Hello!

We are doing the same - coming in on the 25th and staying until the 29th. Our plan is to do DL on Wed and CA on Thurs. But it seems it should be the other way around. We will be traveling with my parents, my family (DH and DD13) and my sisters family - they have a 2 year old boy.

I was thinking of just doing a few rides on Wed night - just the gentle ones for the 2 year old to enjoy, dinner reservation, and then any whatever else we can in the evening. Then I have a touringplan set for Wed in CA - with lots of breaks and a nap included :) Do you think this is OK?

lots of families with your Wednesday night plan, if you follow thru on your wednesday, do not be discouraged about the rest of the days, Wednesday nights are just down right crushing. We fly out on Fridays, so have never been for the post weekend. We arrive the thursday night before, tour Friday then head to palm springs for S/S then back in the park m-thanksgiving
