We are thinking of DLR for Tgiving week in 2010. What are the crowds and weather like at that time of year?

I know WDW is VERY crowded but didn't know if it would apply to DLR too. I found 2 trip reports from last year but they didn't say anything about the crowds. We are WDW vets but have only been to DLR twice, once in Feb 2001 and just for the day on the Saturday of 4th of July weekend in 2006.

TIA

The weather is mild, just right for DL. mid to lower 70's during the day, cool at night.

The crowds, not so much. A lot of our schools locally have started taking the whole week off so the crowds will be even more this year than in years past. The weekend is a MESS, but we've braved it before and survived. The longer your stay, the more time you'll have to navigate the crowd and do everything you want do, but I wouldn't suggest making a one day trip of it during that week.

Thanks! We are planning 4-5 days.

The one day trip in 2006 was because I had a conference in San Diego and had that Saturday off so DD and I took the train up and spent a long day in the park. Even though it was the Saturday of 4th of July weekend and POC had just reopened we managed 19 attractions, including POC twice and Indy 3x. We didn't get there until at least an hour after opening, took a break for a nap in the early afternoon and then closed the park. I thought we did pretty good considering.

We were there this past Thanksgiving and I would definitely try to plan for doing most of your trip the week before the holiday. We felt that Wed. & Thurs. the week prior was great (low crowds and easy to get on rides)! Friday night was the kick-off to the holiday festivities and it got pretty crowded. However.... we would NOT have missed that night for anything!! :)

Now I want to do a trip in Nov! I have a problem. I just went on a trip in June, I'm going on another 5 day trip in Sept, and now I'm going to try and plan a 4 nights in Anaheim with 3 days in the park trip in Nov!

Does the betty ford clinic accept Disneyland addicts?

Ugh, so most local schools have that whole week off too? We are also planning on going in Nov, Sun-Wed of Tgiving week in 2010. I was hoping it would be a bit less crowded than the summer, and I'm dying to see the holiday decorations.

We flew out on the Wednesday before Tgiving week right after DD got out of school She missed Thursday and Friday and we flew bcak Tuesday before Turkey day. This is the 2nd time to have done this and it was great. We made MM Saturday and Sunday and headed over to DCA after lunch when DL crowds grew. We did the Holiday tour Sunday night. Walked on to HM and IASW and had reserved seats with Hot cocoa and gingerbread men for the parade. But we always see the crowds getting bigger and bigger Mon and Tues. I can only imagine how crowded Wed and Thursday must be. We are planning to surprise DDthis year by pulling her out mid day on Wednesday. We have already told her we were not doing Dinsye this year as we are going to the Atlantis in the Bahamas for our summer vacation. Whoops! Guess we'll have to squeeze the money from a turnip! :rotfl2:

We wouldn't be able to arrive until the Saturday or Sunday before Tgiving, they'll be missing 2 days of school as it is, so it sounds like it will be pretty crowded. Can anyone compare it to 4th of July crowds? That's all I'm familiar with.

Hey there! You are irish dancer from TGM right? Anyway, we went Thanksgiving weekend to DLR last year (thursday-sunday) and it was totally awesome! We used all regular TGM strategies and had very similar results to using them at WDW. I was a bit scared, but it was the only time we could go and it was totally manageable. PM me on TGM and I can email you the touring plans we used. :)

Hope you enjoyed the rest of the June trip!
