Thanksgiving Camping turns into off site with family in May

This morning I get an email from a friend – hre family wants to go to Disney in August and would like some pointers, tips, and plans – I do love planning Disney vacations so she has come to the right place. This is the 3rd friend who plans to go in August that has asked for help – must be a popular time to go amongst my friends. But I can’t believe that of the 3 friends that have asked for help, none have invited me along as personal tour guide – I mean I could make that sacrifice for them, all they have to do is ask – that’s just the type of friend I am.

LOL!! You're a good friend! That would be my dream job!

The MVMCP dates have been released - so far 100% right on with my scientific planning method. The park hours are pretty close for the month of November too - a couple of the closing times are a little off but I know they adjust those for crowd levels but so far my EMH planning is correct as well.:cool1:

And if we decide to do a waterpark it looks like our choice has been made for us - Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for refurbishment so Blizzard Beach it will be - We did TL in August 2008 and enjoyed it there so I'd like to go back but I'd also like to visit BB to see what it has to offer - of course going in November it may not be warm either for either so we shall see.

We have actually been to both water parks and like BB better! I will be curious to see if you agree. I hope its warm enough. I know my kids would be disappointed if they couldn't swim!

Today was my day off and Tyler also had off school so we went to the zoo with some friends. It was a great day. Here’s a little highlight.

the kids -

my kids

giant panda

elephant

o-line – the orangutans have the freedom to cross over several of the walkways – these 2 guys were quite entertaining

tiger

lion

prarrie dog - the kids got a kick out of these

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!!!

went to the Disney Store yesterday (the one that's 2 hours from my home). Didn't really find many great deals there but I did pick us up some matching Mickey Americana t-shirts for the 4th of July.

Less than 20 days before I can make my ADRs - soo exciting. I really only care about getting the early morning princess breakfast for Tyra - the other 2 meals I want (T-rex & Chef Mickey’s) are very flexible since we have sooo much down time buffered into our vacation. But for the one meal we are doing in a park I don't want to waste any of our precious touring/ride time so I really do hope we can get the earliest time offered but since this will be the Sunday after Thanksgiving I'm concerned that people visiting over the Thanksgiving break will have booked my choice a week before it's available to me.

so I finally took photos of our "Tinkerbell" gifts that I've acquired so far - anything we don't use while visiting Disney will just be put away for stocking stuffers for Christmas

I'm going to put these sand molds and a few other things in sand bucket for the kids to use on the beach - dollar store for buckets and sand molds

these tops and frisbees will probably go in the sand buckets too - dollar store

finger kites (may also go in buckets?)- dollar store

wipe boards - will probably take these to the parks for long lines or waits for shows - $1 from Michaels & Target

Color Wonder sets - under $3 on clearance

Pez Dispensers from dollar store

Journals & pens - $1 from Michaels & Target

Sunglasses - $3 from Disney store and $7 from Ross

Flashlights - under $3 from Michaels on clearance

activity books for the girls - $1 from target

odds & ends for the boys - $1 from target

Coloring/activity books - dollar store

Lip Balm - $1 from Target & Dollar store

more odds & ends from targets dollar section

lunch bags for packing - these were cute and only a buck a pack from Target

I ordered a screen printed garden flag to put outside our camper from ebay last week and it came in - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way it turned out.

OMG!!! I love it!! Please tell me where I can get one! I would love one for our camper.

Chris finally finished my lamp - he was holding out until I ordered his color changing lights but I haven't found any I'm 100% sure about. Too bad my new flag won’t fit on the bar part of the light - oh well - I still love them both.

but the flag does look nice stuck into the base of the lamp

Chris thinks there should still be a flag on the top part though - I like the bar just centered with the new camping flag at the bottom

you can see here how he attached the pole to the base - found a pipe slightly larger but still very snug and then put peat gravel in the base of the flower pot for some weight. I'm not sure if the fake ivy will stay or what we'll end up doing but it looks ok for now if I add another piece.

back of base

and another picture of my beloved flag

this is from February when he cut the globes - he got the plastic/acrylic one from Home Depot

with white lights before we got a double light base to go inside - helps to illuminate the ears more

Kenny from Tee Time Golf Cart Rentals just called and took my reservation for the week we’ll be there. The quoted price is awesome compared to what it would cost for a golf cart for 8 days renting from Disney.

and for a non-Disney related update - we went camping to Mays Landing, NJ this weekend – the campground wasn’t all that but we were with 6 other families so it was still a great time. We took the kids to the beach (Atlantic City) on Saturday and they loved it – they had soo much fun building sand castles and playing in the waves (I thought the water was freezing but they were just on the shoreline so I let them have at it). We then walked the boardwalk some and had lunch at the Rain Forrest Café – Tyra was terrified of the gorilla behind our table – hope she outgrows that before we go to Disney b/c I really think Devin is going to love T-Rex.

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband – 10 years married and still tolerating each other – lol!!!!!

I got so far behind.:sad2: But..catching up!!:goodvibes
