To all,

I made reservations today (Thursday) using the annual passholder discount code. I managed to get five nights, Nov. 24-29, at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for about $165 per night, Savannah view. This is a little higher than that quoted on Mousesavers, but I think it may include tax.

This wasn't our first choice. I first tried to get Poly, CR, WL for the 23-27, but wasn't able to do so. So when I was told rooms at the AK were available, I wiggled our dates and was able to get dates all the way through Thanksgiving night.

I'm not going to say I don't have some reservations about the Animal Kingdom. I hate buses and don't look forward to being so far away from everything. At the same time I expect us to spend more time at the resort Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day because of the crowds. So we may actually enjoy being "out of it."

At any rate, I as surprised that I was able to get any discount for the day before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day. If you are trying to score a room, try the AK.

Sounds Great

We will be there so keep an eye out for green ribbons. Like you we are planning on spending Thanksgiving at the hotel. AKL has a lot of things to do like the pool, animal watching and if you are interested just take a walk down the hallways they have all sorts of African art, etc some of the stuff is really neat.

The buses were really great when I was there last year at the beginning of december. Unless you have a plan, you can just take the first bus to arrive that is what I did and just went with the flow.

Hope to see you then.

I'm sure you will enjoy the AKL, our first stay there was the best. We never felt "out of it" as we planned our days so that we didn't have to travel back & forth from the parks to the resort often.I can't help about the bus service as we had a rental car, but have been told the service is better than some other resorts. You might want to make a PS for the breakfast at Boma, and maybe some for the resorts that were your first choice so you won't be missing anything. Have a great time.
