Introduction

This year we planned a fantastic "Grand" Gathering at Walt Disney World. Our party included my family consisting of me, my wife and son (age 6), my sister's family included her husband and son (age 8), my dad and his wife and my grandparents. A grand total of 10 ranging in age from 6 to 81!

EPCOT 11/24/08
We arrived on Monday, November 24th at MCO at 9:40 am. We were at Saratoga Springs by by 11 am, checked in and went right to EPCOT. We arrived by Noon and headed right for Soarn' for a 6 pm FP. We enjoyed lunch at the Electric Umbrella. The boys received mission passes for Kim Possible at Norway so we headed over, road the ride and embarked on our mission. We discovered in short order that the game was difficult for our group and the boys were a bit too young, so we turned in our Kimmunicator and headed over to Test Track. The person in front of me got two FP's for part of his party and there were no more for the day.

We got FP's for Mission Space and headed over to Universe of Energy. I haven't done the attraction in years and we all agreed it was an enjoyable experience. The boys loved the dinosaurs and now we play Jeopardy! in the car with our son. The attraction kept the attention of both boys.

We enjoyed Mission Space and the boys were particularly enthusiastic about the attraction so the cast member offered us some additional FP's which was very exciting for the boys.

The standby line for Test Track was 60 minutes so we decided wait in line. The wait was closer to 80 minutes which really surprised me. Everyone enjoy the ride and decided it was worth the wait.

It was now time for our FP at Soarn'. When we arrived there was a huge line. I assumed it was the stand by line and went to get in the FP line when we discover that the stand by line appeared to be closed and the line was for FP!! We asked the cast member and were informed that the ride had and extended down time and we could use our FP's later that night if we wanted.

It had been a long day so we grabbed a bite to eat and headed back to our resort.

The crowds were not bad at at EPCOT and the weather was great.

I took the boys to the Grand Stand Pool for a quick swim. We called it a day and turned out the lights at 9:30 pm. We had awoken at 4:00 am to catch our flight so we were quite tired.

Wow you are quick to start up your trip report. Have you even unpacked yet?

Bummer about soarin.

Hi,
Thanks for coming over to the TR and posting a report. I usually see you post on the CB. I'm sure people have told you, that you look like Denny from Grey's Anatomy.

I was there a few week before you. At nite, it cooled down, and we would see "dads" swimming with their kids, and the lifeguards bundled up like it was freezing out.

Hope you had great weather. We actually did. The day's were in the high 80's and nites dropped down into the 70's.

Now we don't want you to waste too much time on the "getting there" part of the trip. Just hurry and get to the fun stuff. :rotfl2: :cool1:

We had chanlenges with soarin last Jan. We kinda go stuck 30 feet in the air for about 10 - 15 mins. :scared1:

I'm soo jealous. We were at Epcot on Sun evening 11/23 and on 11/24 and never saw the Team Possible CM's. And my dd9 and dniece12 were really looking forward to the Kim Possible adventures. We hung around Norway for quite awhile before my dh told us to move along, he said we were beginning to look like vagrants! :lmao:

Sounds like ya'll had a great time!

We were approached by a CM to participate out in the plaza by the big fountain and pin trading area. The boys were excited at first, but it soon became obvious that they were a bit too young. It looks like a fun game and I'm sure we'll enjoy it fully during a future trip.

We are going next year for Thanksgiving, so we look forward to any and ALL trippies over the turkey holiday!
