For those that have done Thanksgiving buffets, it states UO Characters- so a few characters really show up?

I am just happy to get a decent Thanksgiving meal.

We are staying PBH, so we are looking at Trattoria for our Turkey day meal.

And this is our very first UO on property stay, so any advice or recommendations is appreciated!

Called PBH yesterday and found out that the Mama Dellas option is a plated meal but they didn't have a menu available at concierge, told me to call back during Mama Della's hours

I did a Google search and found a listing of hotels from a year or two back. The Waldorf Astoria was running $90 a person

The more I look at these menus I really don't think they will warrant our paying a minimum of $200 when I have two teenaged girls that eat like birds. Probably will venture offsite to find something that day
Most of the local dining specials that appear in the newspaper Thanksgiving week are all on the pricey side...anywhere from $40/per person and up. Those specials should be coming out sometime next week so keep your eyes out for them. I don't know if going someplace like Golden Corral or Perkins wouldn't be the best for your family.

Would love to do Gaylord Palms as a way of checking out the resort but it's in the same range as Loews ones. The Mama Della's option is $42 for a plated meal, still unable to get in touch with anyone that has a menu though. The ones that the Emeril restaurants are offering (both Emeril's at City Walk and Tchop Tchoup) are $34 for just the turkey and two sides. Like an extra $10-$12 each to add an app, and a salad and around $8 for a dessert. That takes it up to the cost of the buffets. The Rosen hotels on I- drive vary in price from around $30 on up and the Columbia in Celebration is very reasonable at $21.95

Since you are a local Metro West, where would you recommend? Husband and I are more inclined toward traditional, unpretentious buffets. Will have a car.

hopefully, one of the locals will be able to help you with finding a local place for Tday dinner.

when i will be in another town on vacation during the holidays, i google and pull up the local papers for that area and check out the restaurant deals for the time i will be there.

sometimes you'll find coupons also for them.

I've been pouring through the online articles and check the Sentinel daily. I did go ahead and book 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian for 4:15, figured that would at least give us a fall back. It's the regular menu but the price is regular too, $42 per person

I checked with a few of my co-workers who went out to eat last Thanksgiving and they all agreed...try Cracker Barrel. It's not a buffet but the food was excellent and under $10 per person. It might not be the most glamorous place to eat but I don't think you'll be disappointed. Keep your eye on the newspaper ads over the next week or so...you might see something else that appeals to you.
