Thanksgiving at Disney?

In the past... it has been quite manageable from Saturday before, until Wednesday. Crowds build as the week goes on. By late Wednesday the crowds are noticeable bigger. Thanksgiving Day is VERY VERY busy, especially in the MK. Other parks are a little better.

This year it sounds like the crowds will be big all week. They recently adjusted the hours for MK to be open until midnight starting on Sunday thru the rest of the week.

We'll find out in a little less than 2 weeks. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

This will be our 2nd Thanksgiving at Disney....if this is any indication of how busy it will be.............

ALL of Disney resorts are booked solid. So thats approx. 30,000 +/- rooms. This comes directly from CRO.

We have been trying to ugrade to WL...no luck. We will be at POR.

It's busy, but it's only as bad as you make it. In English, yes it's busy, but as long as you go in with the mindset that it is going to be crowded and are willing to "go with the flow" you'll be fine. Don't worry about the crowds, hey, you'll be in WDW.

This will be our 2nd year and I can't wait... of course there are only two of us, so we can adapt easily.

I assume that the high level of guests over Thanksgiving is also from the storms this year. So many people had to cancel their trips and I am sure a large percent rebooked for the holidays.

What is going on there as far as Thanksgiving Dinner. Do all the resorts do a Turkey dinner or just certain ones? DH and myself are going next year for Thanksgiving day for a 12 day stay. What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving dinner this year?

We'll be arriving on Turkey Day, and have Fantasmic package at MGM that night.

acidreignn-
We too are arriving on Turkey Day with a fantasmic dinner package. We are eating at Hollywood & Vine @5:50. 12 days and counting!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Think we can see Osbourne Lights AFTER Fantasmic?

We will be there in 7 days :Pinkbounc !!!!!!!!!!!
We have been down in DW over 10 times at Thanksgiving!!!!!
When we 1st went in 1983 the parks (only 2 on them at the time) were just about empty. Each year the crowds get bigger & bigger.
Just like Jeanny posted, it's all in the mind-set. Just go and enjoy the weather & decorations. It's the best!
As far as Turkey Day, you can find turkey dinner all over.
We are eating at Chef Mickeys 3 p.m. seating for 28 of us!!!::yes::

We fly down next Saturday!:Pinkbounc And will be having your US Thanksgiving dinner at O'Hanas!::yes:: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

After having a very nice, but also very expensive Thanksgiving dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe a few trips ago, we stopped making PS's for dinner. On the last trip we stumbled across a traditional Thanksgiving meal at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in the MK.

We enjoyed it so much, we intend to give it a go again this year.

Going down next Friday and having Dinner at the Concourse!!!

We can't wait

We were there last year from Wed-Mon (WL).
We did Mk on Wed and sun-not too bad

we did Epcot on T-Day. The park had EE-lots of people, but as the park opened, we headed right and the whole world headed left (to TT and MS). we walked on to SE, Living with the Land, Food Rocks, Journey and headed to the Mexcio side of the WS right at 11:00 am. Ate lunch around the WS and had a GREAT time! We left around 3:00pm. Had dinner at Chef Mickey's. Had a PS for 5:30-it was pretty empty when we got there-were seated in 5 minutes. We aren't going this year, but we'll be there next year!!!!

This is our 2nd Thanksgiving... I can tell that it is going to be much busier than our last visit because of the change in hours!!! have not seen a 12am opening for that week in a while... but, just bear in mind that it is well worth it!! we always go to parks early and will avoid MK on turkey day... we will spend the day in the WS and have PS for LeCellier!!! can't think of a better day!! then the next night we have Candlelight pkg........

Enjoy!!!

kathy carleton - I am confused by something in your post, and I am hoping that you can clarify... 12am opening?

This is our 2nd Thanksgiving... I can tell that it is going to be much busier than our last visit because of the change in hours!!! have not seen a 12am opening for that week in a while...

We were at WDW last year from late Tues. 'til Sunday. We thought the crowds were great, but we always go at Easter, so it's all relative!

We are going to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern at MK-hope we can get in:)

That's what I thought. Thanks for the clarification.
