Thanksgiving and capacity closings?

We are going to be at Disney for DD's soccer tournament the week of Thanksgiving. Her game on Thanksgiving day is at 8am, so we would likely not make it to a park until 11:30 or so. I have heard that crowd levels will be insane, but is it common for parks to close due to capacity on this day? Is there a park that you would recommend over others?

Parks don't reach capacity at Thanksgiving.
Parks aren't insane etiehr.
I've been to all the parks on Thanksgiving.

I would use mobile MDE to check wait times around 11am and determine which parks meets your needs based on that. Obviously MK will be the most crowded. We were at EPCOT and MK on NYE 12-31-1999 when they closed both park due to crowds. Ironically I don't even remember it being that crazy.

It's really not that bad. We went to Epcot last year and it was a blast.

Between Christmas and NYE is the only time of year parks start phase closing so not surprising that y2k closed parks.

What Queen said above is true. We have been going to the parks every year for Thanksgiving since 2001 and have never seen any closings at any of the parks. Yes, it can get busy, but it is never insane like Christmas is. We usually break up our day on actual Thanksgiving by hitting MK in the morning and Epcot in the afternoon/evening for dinner.

This. It's really not that bad at Thanksgiving. Only exception I've found is MK on Thanksgiving itself...even then it's not capacity phase closings...just busy.

Last year MK didn't let people in about a 1/2 hour or so before HEA on two evenings. I don't recall which nights during Thanksgiving week. Main St. and the Hub area were mobbed.
They may have had small internment phase 1 closures for a very short period, but nothing that most would even notice.
It's crowded but with managed expectations, doable.
