Well, we are 150 days out until our Thanksgiving trip and it never crossed my mind to make ADRs for Liberty Tree Tavern for Thanksgiving. So, I call thinking suuuuurely they won't be booked up and suuuurrely I can get a table for six for Thanksgiving. Nope! Booked up! Only tables for two left and the person I talked to said we would all be seated at different tables. Now what do I do? I didn't book anything. Where else is there to eat a traditional meal at WDW? I'm so bummed. :(

I can't say this would be true for Thanksgiving, but we attempted to get an ADR for Whispering Canyon for a night of a trip last summer and were told none were available. We decided to take and chance a just go. When we arrived we were seqted immediately. Apparently there are some tables left for us walk-ins! I hope you have good luck finding something. :wizard:

Not necessarily true. You probably got an opening provided by someone with an ADR failing to show. There is, however, always a chance that this could happen, so it could be worth a shot! :wizard:

Guess I must have lucked out yesterday - booked for 6:30pm for four no problem.

Did you book at LTT with no problem for Thanksgiving or somewhere else? or was it for a different day.

We also need to call for Thanksgiving day and I'm curious if it's all that booked up already.

You probably don't care, but our group decided against a "traditional" Thanksgiving Day meal - so we have ADRs at the Teppanyaki Dining Room instead. Might try something like that to at least get something booked. Hope you are successful!!!! ;)

Thank you all! The more I read the more I see there are a few more options for a traditional T'giving meal. I'm not opposed to a non-traditional meal, but would love to go traditional if we can get it. Lesson learned - make ADRs at the 180 day mark!!!!

I'm going at Christmas time and while making my ADR's at the 180 (+10 for staying onsite) I was told that The Crystal Palace did a "traditonal" buffet. Couldn't hurt to ask if they do that for Thanksgiving too.

I was hoping I may be able to slink away, and get away with my response to this    Although I really do know that US Thankgiving is in November, when I saw a US holiday on Oct 8th, I just matched that with our Thanksgiving and booked our special Thanksgiving Dinner (or so I thought), I even questioned DW Dining when I booked LT as to whether they would be doing anything special since it was Thanksgiving and he didn't correct me at all, just said he didn't think so. I'm sure he thought I was :smokin: and decided to play along :rolleyes1. So anyhoo, I have a reservation at LT for Canadian Thanksgiving not US. That is of course, why I had no problem making ressies.

How many are in your party? Depending on that it might be worth it to take the tables of two, so that you can at least be accounted for, then if there are cancellations or no shows for larger tables, it would be easier to accomodate you.

We did this last week for the Garden View tea at the GF. I learned firsthand that last minute ADR's in June are next to impossible to get. We had to change our ADR's at the last minute and ended up with 2 tables for two that they changed to a table for 4. Thanksgiving might be a bit more challenging but it's worth a shot.

Maybe try some of the buffets, I think Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 Park Fare will probably have a special holiday spread... maybe Boma? I don't think you'll be able to be picky at this point though, I'd call the dining line and see what they have to offer. You might not get the restaurant of your choice, or the time you want... but I think if you keep an open mind you'll find something you'll like (and maybe start a new tradition!)

Good luck!

We Had a fabulous traditional all you cared to eat Thanksgiving meal at Ohana's Thanksgiving 2002. I hope they are still doing the same. It was wonderful.

I don't recommend relying on the walk-in strategy for Thanksgiving at LTT. We did that for 2 on MLK day a few years ago and waited 70 minutes. I had a very hungry/unhappy DD with me.

I tried for the LTT as well and they were booked, 8 in my party.
1900 Park Fare was also booked, except for a 9:30 p.m. seating, just too late for us. This was last week when I called.
So, I booked the CP at 3:15pm. Hopefully, it will be good. I have only been there for breakfast and it was great. Good luck!!!

Keep calling. Enough people switch things around that something may open up.

Last year I book LTT for Thanksgiving, I called at 7am on the 90 day mark(earliest you could call last year), I was on hold for 40 minutes and by the
time someone picked-up dinner was booked completley all I could get was either 2pm or 11am. There was 10 in my party and I was amazed that I
couldn't get in during dinner for characters considering it was only 40 minutes into booking. Keep calling, you may still get a better time, but the allears
site gives you the menus at all the restaurants for holidays. I would never
go back into a park on a holiday, I would eat in a hotel restaurant and just
relax all day, the park was unbearablely crowded that day, we ate and
left...what a waste of a days pass.

I think you'll love it. That'll be near parade time, right? So make sure you'll be able to work your way through the crowds to get there :goodvibes

Give the 50's Prime Time Cafe at the Studios a try. We had our Thanksgiving Day Meal there this past November. It is set up to feel like you are eating in your own kitchen circa 1950s USA and you can order off of the regular menu or the the traditional Thanksgiving Day meal. We had a good time.
