Thanksgiving 2007!!!

Aloha Rob! We love Hawaii too. We were there in August 06 for a little more than 2 weeks -- our first ever 2+ week vacation! We spent a week on the Big Island and a little more than a week on the North Shore of Oahu. DH travels quite a bit for work so we had enough frequent flyer miles to take the 3 of us and my mom and dad. It was quite the trip. I understand why they call it paradise. Retirement plans for me definitely involve living in Hawaii...but I still do love the incredible blues of the Caribbean (and getting to Florida to hop a boat is a lot easier than flying to Hawaii from the Midwest!).

By the way...I found a "recipe" on the Disboards for making tie-dye shirts with Mickey ears on them....would that work as our cruise shirt? I'm just guessing that getting anything printed with a Disney theme will be a bit hard...I'll look around though.

Last year we did the tourist thing for a week ( pearl harbor diamond head etc) before that we did Maui three times in a four year period and can't wait to get back in 08. I would like to take the girls on a 16 day trip and do Maui for 7 days and then 7 days in Kauai:thumbsup2 I don' t mind the flight BUT....It kills my wife. I am still trying to get Priscilla to go to Tahiti, ourdaughter is all for it:yay:

I tried making those once, and it didn't turn out so well.

Does anyone have access to a button machine? That might be another thought to identify us throughout the week.

I think I'll send a PM to Jellyrolls Karen aka TLinden. I think she had buttons made up for our huge Jellyrolls meet back in 2005.

She used this clipart on them: :teeth:

Here is the link (for which I haven't had much luck. I might need to get Rachel to help. She's 12, and better at this than her 50 year-old mom.) If anyone else can figure this out, have at it!:rotfl2:

I had trouble centering the design, choosing colors, etc.

I do like the ideas about buttons.:)

Well, let me jump in and crash your thread! Our family will be joining you for this cruise. It will be me, Linda (48), DH Robert (57) and DD Jamie (15), unless DH can't go at the last minute and then I will bring a replacement cruiser for his spot.

I think this is my 15th Disney Cruise. I have been on 3 Disney cruises this year already, and next month am doing a back-to-back with the DVC member cruise and then staying on the Wonder for the 3 night right after.

You name it, we've done it. Was on the first official "fish extender" cruise (the WB Panama Canal in May 2005), we've now got 3 fish extenders in our family because we have been involved with other cruises where we have had fish extender contests.

We've done t-shirts on almost all the cruises. Our friend actually designs the logo and then put the stuff on cafepress.com and then we go in and buy what we want, pay Cafe Press directly and then the small "profit" he makes he donates to the Arthritis Foundation. Just make sure if anyone designs something that they put on Cafe Press that the word "DISNEY" does not appear anywhere or your stuff will get pulled and you will get an email from the Disney attorneys about "cease and desist".

We've done lanyards, name badges, door magnets, buttons, our own DisBoard mini navigator, sailaway gifts, pirate pictures in the atrium for the whole group, snorkeling out to a sunken ship at the adult beach at CC, scrapbooking classes and so much more. I don't think I've actually relaxed yet on a Disney Cruise!

We are trying to hit all the holiday cruises and hadn't done Thanksgiving yet, so this year we are doing Thanksgiving!

Okay, so that's a little bit about us. Since I'm cruising for a week next month and my year end at work closes in about 10 days, I'll be getting ready for auditors, but I'll try to check in to catch up with what's happening.

Please let me know if I need to do anything!::hippie:

Welcome aboard!!! Looks like a ship full of CC Club members to me, maybe they will "lock up" all non CC members in a room and let us have the rest of the ship for our CC Club meeting....

Welcome aboard Linda!!

The cafe press idea sounds great for t-shirts!!! :thumbsup2

Welcome Linda!:cool1: If anyone here has questions for VERY experienced Disney cruisers, you're the ones to ask. Which, by the way, ahem..(:lmao: )

Could you help us with the cafepress idea? Do you think your friend could design a shirt? I understand about the 'Disney' trademark, and I'm sure anyone here would agree instead to 'DCL' or 'DISboard' instead of Disney?:confused3 This sounds by far the easiest way! Each individual ordering directly from cafepress.

Wendy, That's great! My kids want to play bingo, too. I'm planning on playing as much as I can.

Laura, I also saw the times for the trolley tour ending at 4:30. It says 90 minutes long (I guess if you don't get off). I just thought it would be a good intro to Key West since I've never been there. Since we're not doing anything else there, don't you think 4 hrs would be enough, in case we stop a few times. :confused3

Cafepress sounds great. I also find a place called Zazzle (from a friend) who does have a licensing agreement with Disney (and can put Disney characters on t-shirts). I think we'd prefer the t-shirt route over buttons...but whatever works is good. By the way, welcome Linda!

I was talking with my son last night and his idea was "Turkeys take over the Magic -- Thanksgiving 2007 Cruise" for a "tag line" on a t-shirt. Any other ideas?

Well...back to the work at hand. Guess I really do need to get something productive done today!

Karen:

Tell your son that we like his "tag line" We are in on the shirts just let us know what company we all decide on.

.

Karen, that sounds great!

In fact, all of the t-shirt ideas are good. Our family is game w/any design, color, manufacturer, etc. We just love the idea of wearing one, because it makes it so much easier to identify fellow DISers throughout the cruise. (Even if the shirts are only worn the first day at the meet, it's still easy to remember people from then on.):)

Priscilla

Good morning all. Thanks for the welcome.

I was looking a couple of pages back and someone designed a door magnet which I thought was adorable. If you wanted to stay with a theme for the cruise, I think the door magnet could be adjusted accordingly and we could possibly use that on Cafe Press, although I don't know if we would get "caught" for using the characters or not.

I'll check with my friend Ken and see what he thinks.

Well the two lawyers in this family wont say anything about the design. Lampy, do you remember who did the shirts for us in 2005? Was it Andrew?
