Thanksgiving 2007!!!

hey everyone i was thinking ( scary at this hour of the morning ) avery sells a computer program package that is for iron on things such as tee shirt iron ons so that is where the thinking came in if we cant get the tee shirts made we could always come up with a design ( and it can have what ever ) we can download it ( like we did for the magnets ) and print them on to this paper that will make it a iron on to make the tee shirts, that way 1 we dont worry about who can make them with a disney logo and 2 im sure we can all decide on a color and make them our selves and way it was an idea

Hi Debbie,

How funny! We live in Oakville (hubby was a south county guy who went to SLUH), but I'm a Kirkwood Alum (who hasn't gone to a Turkey day game since my son was born...though I have good intentions of going every year...until I get drafted to cook the big dinner...no drafting me this year:woohoo: ...guess the in-laws and outlaws will have to have pizza!).

Our son attends a private school (The College School). Are you all flying or driving to port? We're driving this time because I couldn't find decent airfare (we booked late) and son really wants to take his boogie boards!

Karen

It IS a small world after all! My son went to SLUH. He's a senior at Knox College and unfortunately won't be cruising with us. Our daughter is a Nerinx & MIZZOU grad, and she's not cruising, either.

Long story short, we were supposed to cruise with a large family reunion group last December over New Year's, but our flight was cancelled. The non-St. Louis members of the group cruised without us, so the St. Louisans are cruising on this cruise...part of an incomplete family reunion.

We are flying, but we're flying into Orlando Friday night. We don't want a repeat of last December.

I usually do Thanksgiving dinner, too. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and I really hate to miss it at home, but this is the only cruise we could all make.

By the way, we take our puppy to obedience classes in Oakville on Thursday nights. Small world, indeed!

I was somewhat skeptical about sailing during the Thanksgiving 05 cruise. (I'm sentimental about holidays and traditions.) It turned out to be one of our, (if not THE) best vacation yet. (Mostly because of celebrating Thanksgiving with our new 'Turkey Day' friends:) .) Rachel, however, (she was 11) missed the 'traditional' cornbread dressing and sweet potatoes Thanksgiving day (though the turkey was excellent.) She's relieved to know that this year, I'm preparing the 'traditional' Thanksgiving dinner the weekend before we sail.:thumbsup2 (Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I don't think I'm ready yet for a Christmas day vacation. Maybe in a few years.:) )

Hi Debbie and Priscilla,

I love the holidays too...but not Thanksgiving. Sorry, but I'm one of those who cannot stand turkey...blech! Most years, I'm up at 6:30 prepping the dumb bird...getting it ready for the oven and stuffing it. We usually eat around 4 and while everyone else talks about how wonderful the house smells...and the dog is laying by the oven in obvious bliss...I'm thinking yuck!

My idea of Thanksgiving would be lobster...shrimp...crab legs... Yep, I could really be thankful for that...but never turkey...blech!

So, long story short, I'm really looking forward to this cruise. Not only am I not relegated to just the veggies...I also don't have to cook a dumb bird for the inlaws and outlaws...and I can sleep late (what a bonus!)!

Yep, cruising at Thanksgiving just sounds better and better all the time to me! Guess the inlaws and outlaws will have to eat pizza this year (since none of the wives will cook a turkey!).

Hey gang, I just finished up a 4 day RCCL Western Caribbean cruise yesterday, so now I am ready for the Thanksgiving cruise on the Magic. I had a wonderful time with my girlfriends, but lets just say Disney just blows away the Enchantment of the seas! DCL rocks when it comes to personal service. Also the food was terrible and the pools were filled with salt water ( I guess I wasn't prepared for that one.)Oh well Key West was great and well Cozumel is kind of a blur, if you know what I mean (Carlos and Charlies). I am still trying to recover from that experience.

I like the shirt idea. On our last cruise we had lime green wrist bracelets (like the Livstrong ones) that worked out really well. They said "Sailing on the Magic" with the date on them along with a pic of a cruise ship. The nice thing about the bracelets is that you could wear them for the majority of the cruise. But that is just an idea.

Our shirt size is: DH size adult large
me size adult small
DS(7)size kid medium

Our room number is 6108

My family and I will be on this cruise; our first time on Disney and first cruise as a family. Our son Charlie is 11 and daughter Maddie is 9. We're looking forward to meeting new friends and introducing our children to kid's club "veterans". I have enjoyed reading the tips on the DIS forums and decided to join boards. So... hello! :)

Chris and Penni LeMasters

Well the two lawyers in this family wont say anything about the design. Lampy, do you remember who did the shirts for us in 2005? Was it Andrew?
:cool1:

Julia gave me mine.....did she do them?

MMMMMMMMM Thanksgiving 2005 dinner here for me.........

True story.......we actually started going sailing and vacationing on the holidays due to all of the Family BS......"Why are you going there and not here."...etc, so it's sailing for Thanksgiving, the beach (Myrtle) for Easter/spring break and our house for x-mas.......:cool2:

Welcome aboard, LeMasters family! :)

Priscilla and Rob - we are in room #2508, so we're pretty close to you. That will be nice if our girls are ever out later watching a movie or something. :)

I know we will probably get at least two t-shirts, and possibly a few more. I'll post our sizes once we know how many we will order.

Welcome Chris and Penni! We have another California family on this sailing (5infam).

I think I speak for many here by saying this is the BEST cruise line yet, and that your children will have a wonderful time!

Laura, yes, it looks as if our rooms will be very close together. We've been on level 2 the past 3 cruises, and I love the way it's close to Guest services and one floor down from two dining rooms (of course:rotfl2: .)

Lampy, it looks as if you're fine with ditching the traditional Thanksgiving feast too. You couldn't pay Rob enough to forgo prime rib and lobster for turkey! 'To heck with that! No way am I going to have turkey if there's LOBSTER!' (I might just have it too!)

Priscilla

Actually, Lampy, Priscilla/Rob have it right - it was Andrew with the shirts EXCEPT for yours which was does specially for you.

Chuck:cool1:

Oh, I still need your res number to add you to our list.

Hi all,

I'm still working on the t-shirt. I've found a lime green shirt...but am looking for a boat graphic that I like that looks like the Magic. I've looked at a bunch of turkey graphics but most of them look like the graphic that is used for an annual Turkey Day football game that we have here (it's the oldest high school football game west of the Mississippi between Kirkwood High School and Webster Groves High School). I've got a call into Zazzle's customer service line to figure out if they have the Disney Magic or if they can print it if I get the graphic since they have a licensing agreement with Disney. Hopefully I'll know something by Wednesday.

Also, I need an idea of who wants a shirt and what size. So if you all can post your sizes (similar to the roll call we have going of names and kids ages) that would be good.

Julie, welcome to the Board...my son (Andrew) is 9 and in 4th grade. He'll be thrilled to hear that another boy is joining in the fun!

More later....

Karen

We want in on the Shirts Wendy (Large) Larry (XL) Lindsey (Youth Large)

Thanks

We started sailing for the exact same reason.. It has been the best thing we could have ever started. A stress free Thanksgiving...

Hi all,

Still working on the shirts...hope to have a design for you by Sunday. I'd love to know how to reach Andrew. It doesn't look like we can use the photo of the ship that is in the door magnet...something about it being too "pixelated" when blowing it up for a t-shirt. We have another idea we're working on...

Karen

I sent Andrew an email - hopefully the 2005 cruise master list is still accurate there. If anyone remembers his last name, I could pull all his info from the Bar website as I have access.

Chuck:cool1:

Here is the answer from Andrew on the T-shirts:

Hey Chuck!

Sure I remember. In fact, I kept a file. I've ordered big quantities of shirts from them a couple of times.

The company is a local company run by a family that Molly knows from High School. The name of the company is

Sunkissed Enterprises, Inc.d/b/a Team Florida
1223-A North Hercules Ave.
Clearwater, FL 33765

I dealt with a guy named Chris. Phone # 727-461-7547

They charged me $20.00 to set up the silk screen, and then the shirts were between $4.00 to $7.00 each depending on size. Chris designed the shirts for me at no charge. I think he did this as a favor, as there was a note on the invoice that they charge $35/hr for design. I don't think it would take much to design a shirt. This is their business, so I think worst case scenario might be that you would have to pay a $35 design fee.

When I did this for our cruise, I went to the shop and picked up the shirts, and then mailed them out to everyone. I am sure that if you wanted to, you could have Chris mail a box of shirts to you, and then you and Lisa could send them out. Or, anyone on your cruise could do that.

Believe it or not, there is still a very slight chance that we will be jumping on the cruise. It doesn't look very likely, but it could happen.

I am sure that Chris would remember me, and possibly still have the design from the 2005 shirts. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

Good Luck!

Andrew

we still have ours
