Thanksgiving 2007!!!

Welcome to the Turkey cruise!! Is your 8 year old a boy or girl? Our son, Mason, will be 8 at the time of the cruise.

Lisa

Lisa:

Our daughter Lindsey a tomboy will be really glad to know Mason.. We are really looking forward to all the fun.

Thanks

Wendy

Hi everyone,

Wow, I've been off the boards for a whole week and look at everyone who has joined! Laura, thanks a ton for putting together the list of cruisers. Son is relieved to hear that he won't be the only boy his age on the cruise. I think he was afraid (since most folks around here only get Th and Fri off while he gets the whole week) that the cruise would be sparsely populated with kids.

We're counting the days!

Karen:

Here in West Virginia we are off for the whole we also. My DD 8 was glad to see some many kids her own age.. She is thrilled at all the 8 and 9 years olds.

Is anyone staying at the Hyatt Airport the night before? We are arriving about 8:00 p.m.

We are also staying at the Hyatt. I think we get in around 5:30-6pm:cool1:

Rob:

Will the Hyatt and the Disney Cruise Line coordinate our luggage? We have always been on Disney property before. We were told to bring our luggage down by one rep and another told us to put them outside our room with DCL tags and be downstairs at 10:00 a.m. Any light you could shed on this would be appreciated.

PS: What seating are you on? We are on late seating and on wait list for early, but late seating might be OK. Does anyone have a preference during the Holiday Season?

Thanks !

Wendy:yay:

Our gang from West Virginia will be sailing on the Thanksgiving Cruise.

Looking forward to it.

Does the "Board" Group get together while onboard?

Cruising with Hubby and 8 year old.

Hi & welcome. I'm cruising with DH and DD -12 and DD -9. I can't wait till November :yay: .
Melinda

Welcome Pooh Mommy! This is our first cruise also. It seems to be all we ever talk about, too. We get to make our reservations starting Monday. :cool1:
This is a wonderful board. I can't wait to actually meet everyone. We're driving up the day before and staying at the Radisson. Anyone staying there?
My DDs' can't wait to go to Ron Jon Surf Shop. :woohoo:
Melinda

We are staying at Four Points Cocoa Beach before the cruise. Hoping to spend the day at Cocoa Beach and maybe Kennedy Space Center.

I'm still waiting on some people in my group to make some decisions on a few things before I can book a room the night before and coordinate our transportation. They just don't understand the time it takes to research everything! :faint:

Yes the Hyatt will coordinate your luggage. At check in just let them know you are sailing with Disney and put your bags outside your room door by 9:00am and come on down to the lobby, they have a check in area for the cruise and will then lead you by groups down stairs to the buses and off you go:banana:

We always do late seating, that way we do not have to rush back to the ship after an excursion and get ready for diner. Also the wait staff is not rushing you to make ready for the 2nd seating.

Laura the Hyatt MCO is the best place to stay pre cruise. It is running $199.00 a night right now.

Yes Disney has a friends of Bill W meeting on the ship. I think it is advertised in the Navigator ( the nightly news paper that they leave in your room each night) as to when and where it is held.:thumbsup2 You can also do a search for resent navigator on this board to get an idea of what goes on each night.

Rob

We asked for the late dinner seating also. I requested then because of hearing the same thing about being rushed. Besides I think, being a little older, my DD's can handle the later seating.
Every time I go to the store I try to pick up a few things for our cruise and just picked the shoe organizer Sat. I thought that was a great tip.:thumbsup2
Melinda

other then the shoe organizer and the night light airfreshner are there any other things that we should bring with us that i don't know about

I also bought suction cups w/hooks for hanging swimsuits in bathroom or things behind the door and post-it notes & small dry erase brd for quick communication if we come & go at different times. I also bought some magnetic photo frames to decorate our door with. Does anyone have any door decorating tips? And what do you put your room key , ID, passport, etc. in when you're at port? :confused3
Thanks, Melinda

Hi Wendy and everyone!

Where in WV are you? We used to live in Charleston. Hubby worked for Union Carbide fresh out of college.

We're driving in (yep, from St. Louis...it's quite a drive but we just won't fly over Thanksgiving :scared1:!). I think we're going to stay at the Radisson again (stayed there at spring break before a cruise and they were delightful).

Welcome to all the new comers! It sounds like there will be quite a few of us Disney newbies! Best advice I got when we took our 1st cruise with the over the door shoe thing and 2 highlighters (in different colors) to go through the daily schedules and highlight the not to be missed items! Worst advice I ever got was to carry travelers checks...what a pain!

We've been on 2 cruises (this is our 3rd) and all have been in an inside cabin. People suggested an inside to us since you're never in your room anyway...and I agree. We're only in there to sleep and change clothes. The best part about an inside is that no one knows what time it is the morning and I can usually convince DS that 7 a.m. is really 3 a.m. and he should go back to sleep for a while :rolleyes1 ...this means that I get to sleep in until 8:30 or 9 everyday and catch up on my sleep deficit!:thumbsup2

Can't wait!
