Debbie-
If you have never been to Nassau, then you should plan on catching a taxi from the dock and going to Atlantis. It isn't very far-you will see it from the port. While there, you can visit the casino and restaurants. Also, a lot of people actually book a "day room" at the hotel. That gives you the right to have wristbands which will allow you to use the pools (which are really nice) and to tour the aquariums. Since there are four in your group, you can split the cost- probably would come out to less than $50 per person. A lot cheaper than any excursion, I am sure. You can book a room on line. There are a lot of threads about this day room issue on the main boards here.
The rest of Nassau is pretty unremarkable-if you don't go to Atlantis, I would stay on the ship.

Thanks for the tips!
I'm back now, and I'm getting a serious complex. First, we didn't get to sail on the December 2006 New Year's cruise. Next, as we sailed RCCL last week, we didn't get to enjoy Coco Cay on Tuesday because the waves were too brutal...we even broke our anchor! The captain said he would try again on Thursday. So, Tuesday was supposed to be our day at sea. Wednesday night the captain announced that we couldn't land at Coco Cay on Thursday, either and that we should expect 12-14 foot waves that night. We actually ended up having 15 foot waves Wednesday night. So, Thursday was another day at sea. I couldn't eat all day Thursday. I felt okay if I was walking around or doing something, but as soon as I saw or smelled food...yuk!
Have you ever experienced 15 foot waves on the Magic? I know the RCCL ship we sailed didn't have stabilizers. I'm hoping those make a huge difference. I was fine with the 10-12 foot waves Tuesday night...the 15 footers did me in.
I'm worried about the Thanksgiving Cruise now. As they say, the third time is the charm...what does that mean? December - cancelled; March - loser; November - best ever????
