Thanksgiving 2007!!!

I felt like reminiscing so I popped in to say, "Happy Thanksgiving". It seems from reading this thread that many veteran Turkey Day cruisers didn't go this year.

We booked last August instead of Thanksgiving, but it is was a great cruise. The Roy Suite was cool and I did manage to pull off the surprise.

You can view the Surprise Video and Photo Gallery to check out the Roy if you like.

Hopefully we will see you all on a cruise soon,

Jeff

Hi Jeff (Buddy Bear!)

Any chance you and your family will sign on again for next Thanksgiving?

As I reminisce about this day last year (it was the CC Friday when we saw the Wonder and Magic pass one another :sail: ) I remember feeling somewhat sad that our wonderful cruise and fun with the DISers was coming to an end.

I smile now :earsgirl: as I remember, and am looking so forward to next year when we're all (hopefully, or at least most of us) together to sail and party again! party:

If there is any blessing about not having cruised this Thanksgiving (HUH?!)..we're putting up the Christmas decorations in our house today, and we're not too DEAD EXHAUSTED to do it. :rotfl2: I think next year, we'll decorate the week before we leave. :santa:

I have posted on the live thread w/final comments from the cruise. I will post a link to pictures in next couple of days.

Chuck :cool1:

Looks like it worked...and note the change in the signature to include 2007.

My neighbor borrowed my Expedition last night and the theremometer read 22! Today the last 2 years we were on the bus on route to port!!!! I can taste the jumbo shrimp!! This su#!s!

Ron- If it makes you feel any better, I jinxed myself with the weather reports. It was cold last week in Fla. We had temp's in the 40's almost every night. It was a nice change of pace for us Fla. residents, but I heard some folks complaining that it was warmer back north when they left.

Hey lampie it is 'aero smith 'not arrow smith. I know you are from the older generation, maybe its time to pass on the bonjovi thing to someone a little younger

Rob

Rob- LOL! When we went on Rock n Roller Coaster at MGM last week, I would loudly ask "Who are those guys?" In the preshow area of the line. DD's got embarassed by that every time.

RAPPERS DELIGHT? I have the "best of" CD in the vette....New York New York, big city of dreams....remember that? I believe "Bick house" is another....BTW TCD.....I know EVERY work to rappers delight....the long version......there was a remake I believe by arrow smith about 5 years ago and my DDs were AMAZED!!

Ron- You never fail to impress me. I didn't even know that there was a long version, but that is what my DD downloaded. That is a long song. I'm not sure that I ever heard it before. If you know every word, then I will need to bring this on our cruise, and you will have to perform it for us one night! Word!

At work on Monday before Thanksgiving for the first time since 2003. Lampy is right. This stinks.

I have a dilemma.

We are visiting my sister in Miss. this week. They are the ones we are supposed to do WDW with next Thanksgiving. I need to convince them to do the Magic instead. It will be my sister and her husband(early 50's) Their two sons and wives(mid 20's) and each has one son, (ages 2 and 4).

(I am also booked on the Magic. Which is what I would rather do.)

I need some suggestions to get them to spend the extra money to cruise instead of doing the parks. The trip is supposed to be for the two little ones to see WDW. And I don't think my BIL would get on a ship.
We are supposed to use DVC points for the WDW stay.

Help me sell the cruise over the parks.

Dubbya-

I was at WDW all last week. I have never seen such crowds! I think more and more school districts have made the whole week of Thanksgiving a holiday (our school district here in Fla. did a few years back). The last time we were at WDW for Thanksgiving week was in 2003. Things were quiet until Wednesday, and then got busy. Not this year-it was busy all week! I am talking 2 hour waits for some attractions (Soarin')- Fastpasses being gone by 11 am! There is no way that I would take a 2 and 4 year old into the parks that week. The crowds were even crazy during Extra Magic Hours. If they want to try to ride rides, it is going to be a frustrating time.

Now, I will say that the weather is usually very nice in November, and Disney does a great job managing the crowds. The Chirstmas decorations get better every year. The Osborne lights this year are outstanding! But, it is way too crowded.

Tell your relatives to pick a less busy time to visit WDW, and get on the Magic instead.

Chuck - Thanks for posting the photos, and for your efforts on the live from thread. It looks like you had great weather. Why are there no photos of 70's and 80's night? Don't tell me they cancelled those too (like the pirate dancing)? :rotfl2: Lampy is right- they should pay us Turkeys to take the cruise next year. The cruise would sell out just for the entertainment value! :rotfl2:

Too funny. Kim is gonna want to know who Sharon is. :rotfl2:

Do you mind sharing how you went about reserving the Roy suite? We would love to take our grandparents, but would prefer that they stay in the same room with us. They are nervous about cruising and I think having us, along with their darling great grandchildren, in the room would help. Dates are flexible.

Any insight that you can give me will be greatly appreciated!

Yes 40's. I had the heater going in the camper every night.

I saw your comment on the live from thread about thinking all week what you would be doing if on the Magic. We were doing the same thing. I discovered something, too. Time goes much faster on a cruise!

Hey someone is going to get post # 500 on this thread!

Well guys hope all had a GREAT safe Turkeyday......There is NO WAY I will be able to miss 07 Turkeyday....but rumor is that a "double dip" at CC is out! The offshore boat race dates has been changed! But maybe with "numbers" we can change that......all I heard all week from Jess and Alli was"guess where we would be now"! Kims Mom called her on Thursday to give her crap about being in Michigan and not with her on Thanksgiving...."see no cell service on the ship" I told her!
By the way Chuck.....no "sail by" from the Wonder this year??
