Thanksgiving 2007!!!

Hey Trey and Tonya!!!

Jackie and I were talking about you guys last night after I'd read one of your posts. Glad to see you're posting!!! Soocer season starts here next week! We've had our daughter getting 3 touches a week since T-day with some other clubs in the area. Hopefully she'll be better prepared than some others when the season starts.

I was surprised at the price. I got my quote right off Disney's site. I saw a post somewhere this morning that Disney is not going to allow the travel agents to offer discounts. Generally the agents reduce price by giving back commission. Send me your email address via a PM, I found a pic of you.

Lincoln and I were just looking through pictures and he swore we had a picture of Hunter. We can't find it. As we were looking he said, "Hey, there's a picture of Lamps without a beer in his hand... that's rare." :rotfl2:

Greetings all!

First, my humblest apologies for posting prices. Tonya informed me that it's a BIG "no-no" on the boards. I'm waiting for the board police to spank me.

Second, yes, soccer season is upon us. Fortunately, Springfield (MO) has an indoor facility w/ two fields. One is walled, in the traditional indoor soccer sense, and the other is a futsal field. No walls, small field, size 3 ball - heavier than normal, played 5v5, and all about speed, touch, and finesse. I suppose I should say that we are lucky to have the facility since it's been paying my bills since outdoor ended in November.

Finally, that is rather disappointing that Disney isn't going to allow travel agents to offer discounts. I can understand Disney's reasoning though.

Hope everyone is happy and healthy!

I dunno if I just got a great deal last year or what. But I quoted a cat 8 and cat 11 like I had before, and it is about $1400 more than I paid. Take off the 10% discount for booking onboard, and it is still about $700 more. We had rebooked while on the 2004 Thanksgiving cruise for 2005. this was at the DCL site. Maybe I did something different.

I did not know it was not polite to post about prices on the DIS? I thought that kind of stuff was what these boards are about. Oh, yeah, and to post pics of sauced up old guys acting like Bon Jovi!

Think I figured it out. My girls were ages 10 and 15 last cruise. In 2007 they will be 12 and 17. I think the older age puts one or more of them in a higher category.

Some of us will need a guarantee from Doogie that he will set up the private charter to Rum Point Beach that we had to MISS!

I tell ya that was gonna be the highlight of the trip. It will be worth returning to Grand Cayman just to make that trip.

I have never heard that before and I have been lurking/posting for almost 4 years. I was looking at a cat 6 for our family of 4 and the price was in the low $7,000 range which is almost $2,000 more than an end of August cruise when we normally go.

Yes, Willie, that's what's going on. Lincoln hit the high cat. also. raised our price a bit, but not much. I admit; I'm cheap.. cat 10 & 11's. We're never in our room other than to change and sleep.

First cruise in 2004, we had a balcony cat 6 for kelli and I, and an 11 for the girls across the hall. We did not use the balcony much. It let too much warm air and humidity into the stateroom.

For the 10 day Holiday cruise, we are going with the "cheapest" route. Two cat 12 guaranty rooms. Hoping for maybe a slight upgrade. Even going this route, the cruise is costing nearly 10 grand. Nothing "cheap" about the DCL!
But, I sailed once on an old Carnival ship, and never again with kids. OK for a party cruise with the wife, but not much for kids. And really, the cruise was cheap, but the drinks, etc were higher than DCL.

I agree with that and was so sad  we missed it... I'm still playing with prices but my kiddos think we are doing 04/07 and I know we can't do both, not sure how  they'd be if we postponed for that much longer... one problem being we aren't cruising in '06!! We have a trip to Mexico planned but of course - ain't the same thang!

Sherri

We might try another cruise line prior to T-day 07... Royal something? :teeth: They have an eastern next spring break. Our summer vacations are becoming very limited due to kid's schedules. I already told J. we're going somewhere next spring break!!!!

I just posted a RCCL trip report on the 11/19 turkey day thread.

We haven't booked yet, but we're most likely going to book spring break 2007 next March 17th out of Miami. It's the eastern, on Voyager of the Seas. Think we could all manage TWO cruises next year? Come on Turkey cruisers! Think of all of the fun to be had! :)

Hi Turkeys!! We are booked for T-day 2007!! We prebooked while stilll on board this past t-day and received confirmation of our cabin and dates a few weeks ago!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I think we'd all prefer an eastern for another turkey day sailing. ::yes:: (Hey DCL, are you reading? Time to switch itineraries.)

A visit would be great this summer! Unfortunately, Rob's not able to take much time off then :sad2: and what few days he has, we've saved for NYC! Anyone ready for four days in Times Square? I'm taking Rachel and her best friend to American Girl Place. Come meet us in the evenings, and we can hunt down the world's best delis and pizzerias! (We're also hoping to get in to see David Letterman. HOPING.)

Princessmomma, welcome! :) You're sailing with a 'fun bunch,' here! ;)

Priscilla

We were on the 2004 Turkey double-dip, but back then we didn't know about the DIS board, so we didn't get to meet any of y'all. But since we were on the boat back then, can we still be considered Turkeys too?

We missed '05 thanks to family visits. :rolleyes2 We won't let that happen again! :sad2: We will SO be on the '06 and the '07 Turkey Cruises! Count us in! :yay:

Speaking of which, is there a thread for the '06 Turkey on here somewhere?

Go Turkeys!

Moonbeam(s),

I'm not sure if there is a Turkey 06 board (yet). We (DW, DS) are going on the 06 post-Turkey, pre-Ham (Turkey & Ham Sandwich Cruise) Nov 25-Dec 02. (!!11/25/06!! is the board).

Welcome and you're in for a GRAND time w/ a fantastic group of people!!

Hey John we are just about an hour from downtown.....the "girls" are going somewhere in Shaumberg and the adults are going to stay at a hotel while they go out...I think that is it for April!!
We will be at Cedar Point Memorial weekend I'll be at the campground "watching tye dog" while they hurry up and stand in line!! :lmao:
