I hope all of my fellow sailors will get out and vote today. Unless you are a Democrat, then you can wait and go to your polling place tomorrow. :lmao:

My thoughts exactly!! :thumbsup2

We are finally seeing some action on this years' thread. the count is up to 230 replies which leaves us only 130 behind this thread for next year...LOL.

Unfortunately, this shows a vast improvement. as of a couple weeks ago, we were behind by over 200 replies. There must actually be 10 a day now. Of course last year, and this thread likely next year, had hundreds per day at the end, but such will not be the case this time. :confused3

I have to confess that I am an "openly conservative Republican". And here on the DIS, that iseems to be the minority by far. (Right Priscilla?)

Well Willie, it looks like quite a few Democrats made it to their polling places on the correct day!!!!! :thumbsup2 :sunny: :cool1: I remember a fridge magnet that my mom was very proud of while my sisters and I were growing up. It said "a woman's place is in the house...unless she chooses to run for the senate"!!!!! :cheer2:

Lisa, I haven't seen the magnet before, but I had a friend in college who had a sweatshirt with a similar statement. It was a good one! :thumbsup2

I haven't read your Thanksgiving 2006 thread, (makes me kind of melancholy right now, as I think about this time last year) but wondered if your DISboards group is going to have a 'meet?' You're less than two weeks away from going! If I'm not mistaken, aren't Tonya and Trey sailing the week after? You might 'bump' into them as you disembark!:wave2:

There were a lot of successful female candidates this year. (See, I said that, and did not crack one sexist joke. even though you know I was thinking them. Pat on the back to the Wilster!)

Someone said that if you are not liberal when you are young, you have no heart. And if you are not conservative as you get older, then you have no brain.

I am begining to put away extra money to pay those higher taxes that are coming. sigh. It is a good thing we have a great economy right now. Gonna need it.

Actually, it will be entertaining watching the Dems run things for a while. And for me personally, it should make me a lot of money. Historically, when Dems are in control, we have what is called a hard insurance market, and insurance premiums skyrocket. ( I am an insurance agent) And auto/home rates have been dropping for the last 4 years.

Regretably priscilla, our "thread" ain't much. certainly not like last year or what this one will become for next year. but we are making the best of it and are going to enjoy ourselves anyway.

Dang straight! You guys have to carry on the tradition!

Willie, Lampskies, Lisa and all my other ex Christmas cruisers:

I miss all you "normal people. How did I get stuck on a cruise that everyone who was friendly and nice and funloving was smart enough to bail on? All of you other turkeys----I have heard about you from Willie. Willie and Kelli I will especially be thinking of you as I drink my bahama mamas. My family did hook up with the other Judy and her family. We are chartering a whale watch while in St. Lucia together so maybe it won't be so bad. I hope one of these days I can meet you all.

NORMAL!!!! It has been a long time since I was accused of THAT!

Judy, you will have a great cruise! 10 days over the Christmas Holidays!

A whale watch? I never knew you could do that in the Caribbean. Of course Lampy said he did that every time I jumped in the hot tub last year! (OK, no Free Willy jokes, please.) :p

Somebody call PETA, ones been beached!!!

Oh, yeah, Judy, DD16(Hayley) made varsity basketball, so, we really would have had a conflict with the Holiday cruise dates. She has games on Dec. 19.

NORMAL????? DID SHE SAY NORMAL??? :rotfl2:

Remember this picture and these people? For those who were not there, this is a substantial portion of the 2005 Turkey Day Gang.

Hey Chuck,

Nice picture, thanks, it sure brings back memories. I doubt I'll be sailing either ship anytime soon, with starting a new job at WDW and building a new home next year.

I hope all of you have a magical cruise and maybe I'll see you all who happen to pass thru the wdw resorts on your way to or from the Thanksgiving 07 cruise.

Lampy, I see you couldn't resist joining up on that cruise.

All of you returnee's have a magical cruise. :wizard: I am sure I am going to miss it dearly.

YES!

Let's get this reunion started! party: Come on turkies! We have a little more than a year away, time to start planning now!

Lampy, hope you and your family have a great time on RCCL! Be sure to see one of the parades on the Promenade. (However, don't anticipate the fun and excitement of Disney's pirate night when you witness RCCL's pirate night. pirate: A major let-down.) One other great thing though, their lobster night is better (IMHO) than Disney's!
