My DH is trying to convince his family to go to Disney World for Thanksgiving next year. We have decided that if they don't want to go with us that we will just go by ourselves. Tell me all I need to know about going the week of Thanksgiving. Mainly, where to eat at. We went for our Honeymoon this past May and I did months of planning but the one thing I did not plan for was all the places to eat, we were so overwhelmed at all the places to eat and some of them, I didnt' realize that you had to make PS for. Let's face it, eating the counter service got pretty old after a few days. Also, how were the crowds this year? I'm so excited that I'm starting to plan a whole year in advance. Also, where are the best places to stay for a large group, like 8 people?

Thanks for all yall's help!!

We went for Thanskgiving week a couple of times. The crowds are getting busier and busier that time of year now! We thought it wasn't too bad the first couple of days, but by Wednesday there were a lot more people in the park. As far as places to eat, we have SO MANY favorites. You should take a peak on the restaurants board for some ideas. Make sure you make Thanksgiving Day reservations as soon as you're able to do so! I called on the first day you were allowed to make the reservations, and most of the restaurants were already booked! We wound up with a reservation at the Grand Floridian, which was pretty good, but I had no idea things were going to book up so fast!

We're taking a group of 10 or so next December, and decided our best hotel option to be staying in 4 rooms at a moderate resort. With a party of 8, you can either get a couple of rooms or a 2/3 bedroom suite, but the suites are a good deal more expensive.

We were at WDW Thanksgiving week this year, we arrived the Saturday before Thanksgiving and stayed till the Saturday after. THe first few days were not too bad, but on Tuesday it seemed like the flood gates opened up and it got really busy.. Not sure if we would go back that week again or not.

I was there from the Saturday before to the Friday after Thanksgiving. Crowds did start building Tuesday and Wednesday....mainly after lunch. If you get an early start, you'll be fine. We did our favorite, not-to-miss attractions early in the day and enjoyed a leisurely pace the rest of the day. We did not go to a park on Thanksgiving Day, so I can't comment about that.
