We're going at Thanksgiving this year (BCV), arriving on Nov. 22 and departing on Nov. 30. The last time we were at WDW during Thanksgiving was about 18 years ago when my wife and I were first married, and we had a great time!

So, anyone else having Turkey day at WDW this year??

Every year. DVC helped us start a new family tradition.

This year, we'll be staying at the Grand Floridian (it's a long story :o ) and for TG dinner, we're going to try for Liberty Tree Tavern ressies. Last year we stayed at VWL, and had dinner at Artist Point.

Looks like we'll be neighbors.:)

We'll be at BCV from Nov. 22 thru Nov. 26, then we switch over to VWL until Nov. 29th. Going with DW, children, and extended family.

We've been thinking about Liberty Tree Tavern, Whispering Canyon, or Artist Point for Thanksgiving Dinner, as we are at VWL on Thanksgiving. Does anyone have any suggestions? We are AP holders so we are not restricted in our restaurant choices, but we do have to think about the childern (5,7,&9).

Switching to VWL sounds like a great idea - I wish we had thought more about that (probably too late at this point). We still aren't sure if we will eat out, or try one of the Public ready made Thanksgiving dinners I have read about on this board. If we eat out, LTT may be the best bet (from a theming perspective anyway).

Have fun!

We'll be there, at OKW from the previous Saturday til the Saturday after Thanksgiving. On July 30th I am calling for reservations at Boma, our favorite. We figured a "non-turkey" meal would be OK!

See you all there!

We'll be at VWL Thanksgiving thru Sunday. No plans yet for eating, we probably ought to make some ressies somewhere.

We will be there in full force at our first full family get together since my sister passed three years ago. Staying at home at BW and ordering the package through Publix so we can spend more time visiting as opossed to cooking.
We have also been to HH for Thanksgiving but never in the entirety.
Our dates are Nov. 22 through 29th.

We will be there, arriving on Saturday and staying until 12/5. It will be our first Thanksgiving away from home in 40 years of marriage. On 7/30 will be making our Thanksgiving dinner reservations for Cape May. We also plan to take the DVC meeting scheduled the first week in December.

Grand Villa for us at OKW with that great dining room and large kitchen with full size oven calling out for the big turkey....but from publix. Actually we have been alone, us 4, for the last three years at Thanksgiving and something was missing......the family....so this year we invited all of them!! And.....they all accepted. Now,the Publix turkey was good, very tender and juicy, but I just might spend the day and do my own this year. There will be 12 of us at the table and the Turkey is the easiest part of the meal....the sides and timing take time and the Publix package works great here. For 4-8 the dinner is $36 and you just warm up that day. The turkey is in a sack, and the juicy result comes from that. The bread stuffing is a side and the mashed potatoes. Reheat those too. You get gravy and cranberries too. We buy fresh rolls, vegetables and salad fixings plus the pumkin pie and whipped cream.. We usually have enough left over for two days of sandwiches. You pre-order in person or on phone and pick up the day before. We usually do a park at opening and leave as the crowds come in and then spend the day at the resort. It has become a tradition to rent bikes and ride around OKW while the turkey is cooking. We will be there from 11/21 - 11/30. Have fun!!:D

We are going this year, the Saturday before to Sunday after. With the exception of 2001 (our first WDW Thanksgiving), we have been hosting Thanksgiving at our house for the last 10 years. Guess the family will eat somewhere else this year ;)
We are not big on the traditional dinner (my husband and kids don't really like turkey) and in 2001 we had a very nice meal in Le Chefs de France. I guess it's time to think about this year's meal.

We started the T'day tradition in '99. We go every other year (share the grandkids with the In-Laws you know)We started with 11 of us, now 15. We did the catered meal Disney offered the first year but did the Publix dinner in '01. It was great. Remember to buy aluminin foil and zip lock bags for the left overs!
We're arriving OKW 11/23, leaving 12/08.

Thanks for the Publix information. Do they offer the same or a similar deal at Christmas time also?

Is there a Heavenly Hames or Hickory Hams or something similar in the area to pick up one of those fabulous spiraled hams? Seems like most folks are using the Publix for their holiday meals if they are ordering in, or is the just the one that has been mentioned most so far?

11/22 - 11/28 for the 8 of us.

Havn't picked the eating spot yet, but in 2001, ate at California Grill and did the same for Christmas Day 2002.

Keep the suggestions coming as we need to PS soon. LLT seems to be the spot.

:Pinkbounc We will be there!!! :Pinkbounc

We will be checking in to the CR on November 27th for 3 nights, then we switch to the BCV for 6 nights. Oooh! I can't wait!!!

I just switched our August reservation that we can't make to checking into a studio at OKW Nov. 23rd, 24th and 25th. We are waitlisted for the 26th and 27th. I really really hope it comes through! Wish me luck! :)
