Last year about this time my wife, married for 40 years, a daughter (we have 5 kids) her husband, and their children went to WDW for the first time ever. Went to the Caribean and spent 10 days. The first day I noticed the kiost? :scared1: for DVC but went by very quickly. I knew somehow it was a "TIMESHARE" thing!! I ignored those places for 9 days, but alas on the next to the last day I finally stopped in.
Now a year later after having spent every day either on this site or just thinking about WDW and DLand, being told "you aren't going buy into a timeshare are you?":lmao: :lmao: :lmao: , we have finally given in and come to the light side!!

Yee Haw!! :dance3: :dance3:
We are now proud owners of, lets see 0.0785% of unit 39 of the Animal Kingdom Villas.

And oh yes we can hardly wait for next November to come around and we can join you all in "Going Home".

I say thanks because I looked at this site and read all the good, bad, and ugly.
But through it all, you all have helped convince me/us, if was the right thing to do. When we look at each other and talk about DVC a big smile comes over our faces.:goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks again

Comgrats and welcome to the DIS as well.

Click the DDC in my Sig and have a visit to some more Disney Dads

Congrats..I too refused to be sucked into a time share. My DS and BIL bought OKW shortly after it opened, then BWV and I still held out. Now after my initial purchase at SSR plus an ADD on at SSR and now an AKV addition, I still need (ok want) more. I'm going to try to hold out for Hawaii, it sounds fantastic but so does CA. Between DS' and my points we are able to get enough rooms for for DD's Fairytale Wedding this Jan. I guess we're hooked. We still enjoy other vacations but like Dorothy said "there's no place like Home" pixiedust:

Congratulations! I look forward to the day I can share my DVC with my someday grandkids! What a wonderful gift for you and your loved ones.

Welcome Home!!! We are also new (Sept.) AKV owners. We looked at DVC 15 years ago when it first started, but decided that college tuition for our two children was more important. We continued to visit WDW about every other year following that visit. After taking the grandchildren in August, we decided to buy and we cannot wait for our first trip in May. Both my husband and I are retired now and can take vacations whenever we want so it is perfect for us.

Well Guys, we just returned from WDW Saratoga Springs. We are Married 40 years with 3 kids & 6 Grandchildren. DW & I went for 5 days just alone & had one of the best times of our lives. We had no children to watch no other friends to deal with & no plans except for dinner ressies. What a blast, we got into pin trading & learned a lot. We never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus & with an annual pass(we go back in January with family) we park hopped on a whim. We have been doing time sharing for over 20 years in Aruba but the DVC has added a new dimension to our lives. Welcome Home to all you newbies & you will be happy with your DVC.
