Thanks Uncle Sam! I'm going to Disneyland! PTR

Followed you over from my TR - sounds like you have a great trip in the works!

All that talk of In-N-Out has started me craving one. I am pretty sure their secret ingredient is crack because I was instantly addicted after my first bite on our trip.

And good call on Costco - we used them for a great deal from Alamo when we picked up our car at DTD for the LA portion of our trip.

Gosh, reading this has made me start thinking about how to pull off another SoCal trip with the kids...

Hi Jill in CO! (Leslie in WY here - just up the road from you in Cheyenne!)

I smile whenever I see your posts, as my husband is one of the most avid Star Wars fans ever - and a Disney fan through marriage - although we play the "Mickey Mouse!" "Donald Duck!" war all the time. LOL! (he is the cranky duck)

Loving your pre-trippie, as we are headed to Disneyland in mid-May for the first time in about 3 years, prior to the West Coast Wonder sailing from San Diego to Vancouver. We are also eating at the Chef's Counter at Napa Rose, and have plans to eat fried chicken at the Plaza Inn. I am very anxious to hear all about your adventures... so don't wait too long to give us your full trip report - I'll be waiting anxiously, and it will help the time pass more quickly.

Here's hoping you have an amazing trip!

I apologize for my absence this week. I'm living in the middle of kitchen renovation hell. My landlord started renovating my kitchen last weekend and has been here everyday since a week ago Friday. Needless to say, I love the changes but I'm over it! I want my kitchen back! He ripped out the circa 1959 original steel cabinets and has replaced them with real wood! I'm getting a real dishwasher too! Just sold the portable on CL today. :) I'm tired of eating out. :) I suspect it will be at least another week to finish but at least I'll be out of town next weekend visiting my niece and nephew back in KC. Can't wait to see the kiddos. At almost 5 and 7 they are growing way too fast!

We had an absolutely gorgeous day here...almost 75 after a cold day and 4 inches of snow on Friday. I managed to get outside and work on my Mustang for the first time since last fall. I had to evict the mouse nest I found in the heater but I'm on the way to actually having the heater in the car working!

Back to the DL planning. Last weekend I booked the Fantasmic Dessert package and a Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. I've done both before in 2005 but Fantasmic was from above the Disney Gallery before they built the Dream Suite so this will be a bit different view. I've done the tour as well but I want to see the apartment again. ;) Using my DVC discount I saved 20% on the tour.

I tried to rebooked my car on Costco since it had gone down $6 but my membership expired. I went to Costco this morning and renewed. I tried to rebook again tonight but apparently the renewal hasn't taken affect online yet. :( Hopefully the deal will still be there tomorrow.

I'm not sure what else to plan right now. Kicking around the idea of taking a Warner Bros Studio tour (love Big Bang Theory) and lunch at Pink's but not sure yet. Any opinions?

I hope you get your - new - kitchen back. Sounds like it will be beautiful when it is complete; but a real PITA now.
Have a great visit in KC.

Mice on the Mustang heater? Wow! It must have been cold.

I haven't done the Warner Bros tour and haven't been to Pinks. Both sound great to me.

Renovations? Hope your kitchen is finished quickly! Lets see some pics when it's finished. New cabinets will be beautiful.

75*? Wow! Yay you. We hit 58* and it felt pretty balmy.

Enjoy your trip to KC. :thumbsup2 We'll be in Vegas this weekend for Joshua's soccer tournament. Safe travels. :goodvibes

I'd spend the extra free days/time near the beach but that's me. ;)

OMG, Jill!!!!

DL trippie??? I am soooooo in babeeeee!!!!

How awesome :jumping1:

Hurry up and go so I can read all about it :p

Just having spent a week at DL, I am super excited about reading your adventures now

Thanks PIO! It will be a big improvement when its done.

Well, the car is almost 50 years old so a lot of time for mice to get in there!

I may pencil the WB tour in for one day.

I so want to do the Walk in Walt's Footstep's Tour. Other than that I have no ideas. I was planning on DL in Feb 2015, but now I think I have back it up to April 2015.

I feel you on the kitchen woes. We had ours done several years ago and it was so disruptive (washing dishes in the bathtub - gross), but the rewards will be SO worth it!

Thanks Jenny! I'll post pictures when he's done. It's not going to be a super high end kitchen and not exactly what I would have picked up a far cry from what it started out as.

The weather was incredible yesterday! I feel like I got some sun.

Sounds like you have a fun weekend too!

I'm not a huge beach person and I'm going to get plenty of beach time on the cruise in September so I may skip the beach this trip.

:welcome: I'm so excited that you joined.

I'm really excited to go but it doesn't really seem that close. The kitchen remodel is sucking all my energy!

So a little vacation planning done although not for DL. I finally made a decision about flights and hotel for my September cruise. I resisted the siren song of F&W and am going to fly into Puerto Rico 3 days before the cruise so I'll have 2 full days of exploring San Juan before the cruise leaves on Saturday. I booked flights from Denver to San Juan on SW using my RR credits and I booked the Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort for the 3 nights prior to the cruise. It gets pretty good reviews on TripAdvisor and the price wasn't bad.

I'm glad I finally made the decision and have flights and hotel locked in.

:cool1::cool1::cool1: Very exciting, I can't wait to hear all about it. Awesome that you were able to use credits.

It was a siren song wasn't it. I still can't believe Jeff heard it!

Hey Mary Ellen!

It really is a great tour from what a remember. Of course the highlight is seeing Walt's Apartment. I'm excited to do it again. I'm glad you are planning a trip but sorry you have to push it out a bit.

I just hope he's done when I get home Sunday!

You really had me thinking but with no points and no tickets I just couldn't justify it over spending the same time and money exploring Puerto Rico.

I loved that my whole SW bill was $35 for the taxes and the EB. Cheapest flight ever!

I'm sorry you have to live through a remodel. We only do remodels if the tenants are moved out, except in emergencies. I hope that he is not charging you rent for the days that you don't have your full use of your apartment. It's a law in CA that you can't charge rent if a tenant doesn't have full use of their unit. We had a unit where the shower was leaking and had to redo it while the tenant was still in the unit. We lost a good 15 days of rents, and then she moved out four months later, relocating to AZ. I wish she would have told us she was planning to do that because once she moved out we gutted the place, it would have been much easier to do it all at once, and the leak had been there for years, a few more months wouldn't have been a problem.

As far as other non Disney stuff, let us know if you decide on the WB studios tour, we might like to go with you, if you want company. We've never done that one and it sounds like fun. We did finally get to Pinks for the first time about a year ago, it was really tasty, but I would go to the one in Hollywood, not the one at Knott's. We've been to both and the one at Knott's doesn't have nearly the choices nor the History.

Which days are you doing the WIWF and the F! Dessert package? Just curious...

Congrats on booking your airfare for the Cruise. I know I felt all better when we booked our flights for the Cruise this October.

Are you going to be posting a potential day by day itinerary here, or have you figured that out yet? Looking forward to meeting in 3D, we're gonna have fun! :woohoo:

Not get charged rent?!?!? Wow, my landlord actually tried to raise it $200/mo starting March 1. (He laid this on me on 2/24) I kindly reminded him we had a lease that goes through the end of July. He wanted me to sign a lease extension until March, 2015 with the increase. Put me in a crazy spot...I think I'm going to buy this place from him but its going to be a bit until I'm ready and I would like to stay in his good graces.

I would love for you two to go on the tour with me! I've got the WIWF and Fantasmic on Sunday, 3/30. I don't really have any other concrete plans outside of meeting you two on Wednesday and Napa Rose on Thursday. Let me know if you guys are up for the WB tour. I'm a big Big Bang Theory geek and would love to see their set...

I can't wait to meet you in 3D too!!!! 19 more days until I leave!

Wow! I don't know CO law on rental units but that's pretty insane! Also one of the reasons that we don't do renovations mid tenancy. We do month to month tenancy not leases, so things are different. Plus in CA you have to give 30 days notice to raise rents less than 10%, 60 days notice if you raise it over 10%. Not sure what your laws are, but if you have a lease, I'm pretty sure you're right in that he can't change the terms until the lease it up.

It will only be me on Wed. But we are good for either Monday or Thursday for a WB tour. I will email you about other details.
