I thought it would be fun to list some of the things that we have learned off the DIS. It could be anything from Disney trip planning to coupons to recipes to YOU NAME IT, anything that you are thankful for the DIS for!!
I will go first. Here a couple things recently that I picked up:
1. Codes. I followed the advice on here about how to "trigger" a code. Since then, I have received 3 different ones when I had never received one before. I am not sure if it actually worked, but I will go ahead and say that it did.
2. Free dining. Because of the DIS, I was able to follow along with other diehards out there for FD release dates. It was a rough road waiting, but I am so glad I had other DISers to wait with.
3. ADR cancellation thread. I was able to snag LeCellier yesterday for our upcoming trip because of the September 2010 cancellation thread. I coordinated with another DISer who was getting ready to cancel some ADRs and I was able to get LeCellier from him. I couldn't believe it actually worked, lol!!!
4. Coupons. Because of a particular coupon thread on here, I was able to save $10 off Blue Ray/DVD combo of the new Alice in Wonderland movie when it was released this week. Doing the happy dance on that one! Ten bucks is ten bucks!!!
5. Finally, all the stories and camaraderie here on the DISboards! My absolute favorite thread so far has been "Wrong song lyrics" where people would sing the ABSOLUTELY wrong lyrics to a song. I sat here at my desk laughing so hard I thought I would wet myself. My daughters came in to see what was going on I was laughing so hard.
These are just a few of the tidbits I have learned off of the DISboard. It is nice to know there are other obsessive people out there who log onto the boards everyday and are addicted to this site. Thanks DISboards!
